Indoor Nice Option's Garden of Intergalactic Delights

DAY 52

OK, so here are the results of the feeds and run offs on both plants.

NYCD

Feed:

4 litres RO Water --- 15ppm (it's never come out totally clean)
8ml Cal Mag --- 360ppm (the Vitalink stuff is WAY lower, making it much easier to get the ppm in range)
2ml GH Micro -- 522ppm
1ml GH Grow -- 585ppm
2.5ml GH Bloom (total in) -- 699ppm

PH at 6.0

Run off:

PH 6.1
PPM is at an eye watering 2160ppm so we need to get that down! Hopefully after a few big feeds we'll see that come down a bit. Obviously there's some build up in the root zone.

Zkittlez

Feed:

4 litres RO Water --- 11ppm
8ml Cal Mag --- 333ppm
2ml GH Micro -- 457ppm
1ml GH Grow -- 526ppm
2.5ml GH Bloom (total in) -- 622ppm

PH at 5.9

Run off:

PH 5.8
PPM is at 1200ppm Not as bad but could still come down a bit. She's much bigger so I guess is taking more in and there's less hanging out in the roots.

Taking them out of the tent and getting a look at them in natural light has calmed my nerves somewhat as the damage looks less severe than it would appear under the LED but I'm still stumped as I can't see any reason for a lock out. It's very frustrating.

The Vitalink now does give me the option to increase the cal-mag a bit without blowing the ppms totally out so I'll try upping it to 3ml per l on the next feed and see how they get on.

Buds are developing nicely on the Zkittlez, but the NYCD is slow or perhaps stunted. The breeder states 60-70 days which is obviously unrealistic but I'm just hoping she packs some weight on soon as the smell is fantastic, it would be a shame to pull nothing but popcorn and larf.

NYCD (sorry for the crap pic)

I've added nothing so far and think they could do with a boost, both of them but especially the NYCD. I have nothing to hand other than a bottle of Canna PK, what do you reckon, any point? Anything else that anyone would recommend?

Sorry to call you in again @Waira but might I ask you to cast an eye over the above and let me know your thoughts? Your expertise would be much appreciated!

:peace:

I’d say you’ve just figured out your problem. pH is probably fine but you’ve got a good nute buildup. I guess just water a bit heavier runoff with a lighter ppm and she’ll get back on track. Zkittlez looks freaking awesome!!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm pleased with how the Zkittlez is coming along aside from the issues I'm whinging about. Not sure that nute build up accounts for the massive cal-mag def but we'll see how it goes. I'll feed again this evening to try and flush out some of the build up and hopefully we can get them back on track with increased cal-mag.

I’m looking forward to running a Zkittlez OG from Barney’s Farm on my next run. I think in higher concentrations some nutes can lockout other nutes. There is a crazy chart that’s impossible to understand floating around here on AFN that tries to show which affects what. It goes kind of like too much potassium can lock out calcium. That’s just a bullshit example I just made up so no fact there but you get the idea I’m sure.

Nice! I'm sure you'll love it. The OG cross actually sounds better to me. I think some of these super sweet strains benefit from a bit of farmyard funk in there.
I think you're probably right, there's too much of something in there preventing the calcium uptake. Can't tell if it's calcium or magnesium as they look pretty similar to me, but hopefully once the levels balance in the pot, things will improve. Here's to hoping anyway.

Feel like I'm posting this one here there any everywhere but I have a little Super Skunk from Seedstockers at day 20 that I thought I'd share here too.

Leaves look a bit papery but hey ho, I'm sure she'll grow out of it. Everyone has an awkward stage at some point...

Although I've been giving her GH so far, I think I might switch it up to the Shogun line on her. A hearty flush prior to the switch should allow for a smooth transition i should think. She's barely had any food yet anyway.

It could also be a terrible idea so maybe I wont...

Thoughts?

Also look how badly I watered her! Still a little cowboy :shooty:

:peace:

I'm just doing a drive by thread lurk and wanted to compliment your grow. The measure of a grower isn't how well he does when the sun is shining but how well he copes with the rain. I have no doubt your struggles will be rewarded with some nice diesel goodness.

Carry on weed nerd, carry on

Day 20 shot looks about right (sizewise) to me!! :d5: ... Leaves hit the edges of the pots!
I'm sure the papery leaves will sort out with a bit of feeding - Maybe time to start trickling in the nitrogen! :D

Don't worry about the watering ... I will hurl a bucket of mixed nutes into my pot after mixing em up whilst screaming "Yeee-Haaaaa"
Ride em cowboy!!

:d5:

Edit : Ooooohhhhh ... the Zkittles is looking very fancy!! :smokeit:

I think my awkward stage has been going for about 30 years :crying:

I'm using the full shogun line up and love them! I vote change from GH to shogun :smoking:
