Indoor Nice Option's Garden of Intergalactic Delights

a little late to this party but subbed....

Looking great....you look to be about 6 days ahead of me. It will be interesting to compare our Zkittlez. I have 4 of them going and 2 Gorilla Glue. Best of luck with your grow they look great!

Likewise! It's good timing, I'm really looking forward to see how they all come along. From what I've seen they're fairly uniform which is great I guess although after a little research I'm not entirely convinced of the genetics. Seems to be a nice strain never the less.

Are you finding them to be heavy feeders? I can't seem to give her enough.

Looking great, Nice! Very vigorous growers you have there. the Zkittlez is taking off! Are you planning to clip some of those fans to open up the lower budsites?

DAY 37

They've exploded in the past few days.

NYCD still looking better for the lower feed although showing some cal def now. Could probably do with some defol now as well. Tucking's not quite cutting it and she's due a bit of bondage.

Zkittles has turned into a greedy little monster almost overnight and I've underfed her a little by the look of it. I'll adjust accordingly but otherwise she's shaping up well.

jealous of these structures man! that side branching coming through STRONG!
what did your research suggest about the genetics?
how're you finding the PPM meter? one thing i know for sure is i use less nutes now i have one - with MegaCrop it's almost criminal how far it stretches!

looking great man gonna get exciting this coming week. :bighug:

Thanks! Yeah, she's really taken off. I hardly did anything to her but she has a really nice open structure. Lots of light exposure and whilst it's far from an even canopy, she's a pretty plant.
Stems are a bit flimsy, she probably could have done with some silicon additive or something but she'll be fine with some supports I guess. One to remember for next time.
She's really sensitive to getting too wet, but also wants a lot of food so I've been running it pretty high.

Still not hooked up the RO but I have the day off work today so it's been added to my list of chores.
I did check the PPM and it's off the charts but I've been doing it like this without too much trouble up until now, so whilst I'm not worried about it, I'm certainly looking forward to it improving. I'm sure the girls are too!

Well, firstly I don't trust anything that Fast Buds say, but that's just a personal disliking of their practices and their distinct lack of good vibes. The main thing that makes me suspicious of this one is the testers they released were under a completely different name. Seems a bit suss to me... I guess it doesn't really matter though, the proof is the puff and aside from some germ issues, they seem to have some solid genetics in their lineup and they all seem pretty stable, not much variation in phenos that I've seen.

Anyway, she smells great already so who am I to complain.

As and when needed but she's pretty open at the moment. It's the NYCD that's been getting the brunt of the defol. She's been chucking out big ol' dinner plates, looking way more Afghan than expected. Certainly not appearing like a 60% sativa at the moment but when flower kicks off proper it could change. Nice little plant never the less. Amazingly thick stems.

DAY 39

Zkittlez just keeps on going. I'm really pleased with how she's coming along after hitting the flower stretch. Nice open growth on her and good spacing. Lowers are coming along nice and she's very quick to bounce back from any training. I'm quite impressed with her so far but she's a bit of a princess and funny with food/water. I think I've overdone it with the N a bit so I'll pull back a touch.

Wouldn't recommend her as a first timer but hopefully I'll manage to pull a few ounces from her. My only complaint really (which isn't a complaint) is that the stems are a bit weedy so I'd recommend some additional nutrients to help with that. I'll probably grow her again and amend that next time.

No frost to be seen yet but the autos and photos I've seen of Zkittles aren't super frosty. The photo I tried wasn't actually that potent either, just a really delicious smoke and easy going effect.

NYCD...

Is a bushy lil' beast. Just looking straight up Afghan indica to me. Very easy plant to grow. Need to pull her about again and defol (for the millionth time) but otherwise she's just quietly chugging along while her roommate causes all the fuss. Prefers a lighter feed and she's a little behind the Zkittlez but I've certainly got no complaints with her.

Hopefully the sativa comes through in the smoke as I wanted something a little more motivating and social for the summer months.

In other news, I purchased a small amount of fantastically expensive imported flower from a friends connection. I just wanted to try some legit US dispensary flower (came in growers packaging so I believe them!) to see what I should be aiming for. I got a gram of Chemdog and a gram of Do-si-dos and whilst they were very, very nice, mine's not a million miles away, so I found it was a good confidence boost, even if I paid a crazy amount of money for it.

The smell translated to the smoke a little more, the potency was a little higher and I thought the smoke was a touch less harsh although my girlfriend disagreed and prefers what I grew!

Definitely gonna be growing some Chemdoggin in the near future though, given it's lineage I should think it's pretty similar to the original. Big fan of that terp profile.

hope you get on okay with the RO filter; i have taken mine back outside after the tap adaptors started leaking. hopefully yours will be better than mine - first time worked like a charm, second time...leaky leaky.

my thoughts are similar with FB in all honesty, no one thing in particular just that general vibe...on the testers,, do they test under different names for specific reasons? bit strange as you say.

boom boom look at that branching on the Zkittles though! very impressive stuff mate, will make for a nicely even canopy, something i never get with my ladies stretchy necks

i have a friend whom picks up a lot of these US genetics and i get to sample several without shelling out cash - win win!
some of these flavours are so good man, makes me wonder how much pheno-hunting goes in to it until they found the plant that perfectly represents the strain and the desired outcome...like the Tangie examples i have tried, absolutely 100% perfect tangerine terps, flawless, you'd smell it and swear it wasn't cannabis. it's that perfect. i forget where i was going with this now except to say i think it's a tall ask for an automatic representation of some of these more flavour-driven strains to really nail it, more-so to the level i'm shooting for (i keep going back to that damn Tangie as an example but understand it was godly flavour) so when the time comes that i absolutely must have that stuff then i guess it'll be time to pop a bunch of photo' beans and start hunting. how long that time is all depends on my satisfaction after finishing up the next few plants in my tent :eyebrows:

Got it hooked up. Bit of a faff and I ended up having to change the tap out blah blah blah, but it's hooked up finally. Got a bit of tinkering to do tomorrow but by this time then, i'll have joined the RO fam. Looking forward to getting control of what I suppose is the last thing that's getting in the way of theoretical perfection for my little tent. I'll only have myself to blame moving forward!

US scale commercial production is probably more about pheno hunting than anything else really. Yeah, I agree. More than growing autos, we're growing from seed and most of us are growing in small spaces, so realistically pheno hunting is out of the question unless you wanna grow one photo strain from cuttings forever. I'm sure some would be happy with that but for me, it's all about variety and to have that, I'll happily sacrifice a little flavour and potency (and really who needs or really wants strains testing at 30%??) Some of those mothers are kept for decades and I just don't have the space, need or want for that.

With a good schedule, a light that chucks and a dialled in feed it's not out of the question to relatively easily pull 10 oz or so every 2 months and there's great auto genetics floating around now. Mephisto are releasing some crazy test results so they are beginning to truly compete now.

Re Tangie - again I'm not totally convinced by FBs genetics and I think that might have something to do with it. That said, stonking yield and everyone that I've gifted some to says it's their favourite (although it's not mine - that crown is still for 4AM - Ghost Stomper is a close second) It's improved exponentially after a long, long cure too.

That said, I'm intrigued by photos again, mostly as I want to try some landraces strains and others that just haven't made it to auto form for various reasons, but for the time being I love being able to have a constant rotation and in my little 1x1 autos are the best way to go. I'm still pulling way more than I can smoke and I'm fairly confident that the addition of RO water and proper attention to PPM will make for a good boost in flavour and general smokability for both of us.

Anyway, I'll be adding a Chemdogging to the tent as soon as I can (although hopefully the NYCD satiates some of my chem/diesel thirst) along with an HBSS as I'm appropriately green with envy of yours.

Oh I forgot to say I also splashed out and got a little bit of shatter to see whether i wanna invest in a press. I know it's not the same but can't be far off. Haven't tried it yet as my GF and I agreed to do so together. I know you're on the fence about it too so I'll let you know my thoughts!
Strain is Gucci OG, which I'd not heard of before but she smells great, I'm struggling to wait for the weekend. Berries, pine and a hint of diesel on the nose.

Yes they seem to be nutrient hogs and for me especially cal-mag. Its my first time growing the Zkittlez so a bit of a learning curve, I will probably grow them again on the next run to try and get a better feel for the strain.

I must say that your grow looks great so far and I love your closeup photos. Best of luck to you!!
