I swear I'll defol the NYCD tonight... having a tough time taking off such pretty leaves.

lovely development, these girls always surprise when they take off and it's awesome. rewarding stuff.

also fully understand not wanting to remove the nice leaves. breaks my heart snipping off a nice and healthy leaf. i see some like to hang pegs and the like to weight down fan leaves instead of remove them, allowing the branching to come through better than tucking alone.
going forward, i won't be doing much in the way of full on LST. i dig the idea of nice even canopies etc but it's becoming too much like hard work now that feedings are increased etc. i've still got to experiment with topping at some point but i'm in no rush!

keep it up man, looks fab.

I know some people here would hang me for saying this, but I don't think heavy LST helps autos a whole lot. I've not found much of a difference in yield. I've never had much of an issue with light penetration though. Perhaps it's more use with the lower powered boards and whatnot. I feel like manipulation rather than training is the way to go if that makes sense. Same with topping, no difference in yield at all. More tops, but they were smaller and a little larfy. I will admit that it gets a bit boring being more hands off though.

Nice idea on weighing down the fans when tucking.

After a whole lot of swearing and covering myself in water, I finally managed to hook up the RO filter. I'm really excited about it and pretty sure that it's gonna be the secret ingredient to get the smooth, flavour forward smoke I'm after.

Big shout out to my growbro @Froot n Fuel for giving me the nudge

They'll get their first drink shortly!

Time to skin up.

Hey NiceOption,

I am also running R/O water in my new room,1st time for me also. I wasn't going to as I have had some really good grows running just bubbled tap water.
Then I thought what the heck and bought a good R/O filter. I guess time and the bud will tell if it was a good investment.

Man that Zkittles looks incredible and that NYCD what a bushy girl, so lush.

The one I got seems to work well although it takes forever.

I'm now feeding between 7-800 instead of the mid 2000s (!) I don't seem to need to adjust my PH now either which is excellent news as I shouldn't think adding 18 or so drops of PH down to every feed was helping the end product.

The NYCD is soooo bushy. I should say was actually, I just took the shears to her. Carnage!

Great to hear! Eliminating variables in growing makes it more simple and less chance of the grow going sideways. If you don’t already know, make sure you monitor the ppm of your RO water without any nutes, especially if you have hard water which it sounds like you do. You will need to change the prefilters (sediment and charcoal) regularly or the RO membrane will get plugged up and fail. Then you have to change them all.
As the ppm of your RO creeps up the prefilters are starting to unload what they have filtered into your RO membrane. The prefilters can only hold so much particulate before the pass it on down the line. Anyway, just a heads up if you didn’t know. It might save you some grief down the road. Your grow is looking great, keep it up!

Been checking every bottle that comes through. It's not much of a chore to do and as you say, I think I'll need to change it pretty regularly. No idea how long to expect it to last but when pay day comes along I'll buy a few to keep them on hand. They're not toooo expensive.

I know exactly how you feel. I just defoliated my girls last night, feels like your killing them. But its for a greater good and in a few days they will look even better than before. Seriously good looking plants, keep it up!!!

DAY 45

They're both coming along nicely. NYCD looking much better for a big defol, gave the Zkittlez some defol too although much lighter.

Both showing cal-mag issues but it should be easily solved and I'm not surprised after the switch to RO. Otherwise both looking pretty happy although still no frost to speak of.

Amazed how big the Zkittlez has got. Bigger than most of the others I've seen. Smells like coco powder.
