No, it's an un-vented blue-flame space heater, 10 kBTU I think. At full blast it produces about the same effluents as one burner of a natural gas stove on medium, but I've never had to set it above 2 out of 5. The grow room has a 7" exhaust powered by an 8" wind turbine on the roof, with an electric exhaust booster I use occasionally if the girlz are extremely skunky. Air exchange is pretty quick. I ran an electric heater in there the first winter, but energy use was too high.
My cap stays on no duct tape needed but I do have to stuff some paper under the battery cap to keep the batteries in other wise mine shuts off. I dropped it one too many times. One little tab is gone and it's just enough to let the batteries disconnect

My battery things are pretty hard to snap into place correctly. Cap stays on fine, duct tape is just so I can tell the difference easier since they're both always laying down
