You don't measure your inputs by weight or volume? I mostly use the EC pen to check when I up my nutes. My only issue with it is it's the exact same body and color as the pH pen and I was constantly grabbing the wrong one :nono::doh:
I use the EC meter exclusively for final nute mixing. I only use weight to mix stock solutions, and then meter when I dilute or adjust the mix. The color of the new pen looks to be from my PH60, but if it is not, some colored tape will fix that. It will be nice to have a unit that I have better confidence in. The EC cheapies actually worked fine until they didn't, usually because I gave them a bath or they got old, but I am sure that the Apera will do a lot better in the long run. :pighug:

This is my super hi tech labeling system :cooldance: View attachment 1717892
Dude, you beat me to the draw. My tape, however might go around the seam on the cap... Not that I have ever managed to shake the cap off the AP60. It looks as though the EC pen also has the o-ringed cap, so far more water resistant than the cheapies. :pighug:

Yeah they're exactly the same body. Can't tell the difference until you turn it on and freak out when the number is crazy and then realize you grabbed the wrong one :bong:

I probably shoulda asked this already but am i gonna need to order ph up or down to go with the megacrop? If so i will also need to order a new pen cuz its a pain using my one designed for soil in a liquid solution! It works fine but its awkward and its short enough if it slipped and fell in it would totally submerge!

Been a while since I used MC but I only needed pH down with it. Guess it's gonna depend on your starting water but soil should adjust it by itself if it's within reason

I've only ever needed pH Down with MegaCrop 1-part. My tap-water is around 6.7 pH though, and comes from Lake Erie, so only about 140 ppm of solids. Lately it takes 0.8 ml of General Hydroponics pH Lower per gallon of nutes in flower, 0.6 ml per gallon for seedlings. I measure pH Lower with a 1ml syringe if I'm mixing a gallon, or with a 100ml graduated cylinder if I use the 30-gallon reservoir. I have a Visine dropper bottle of pH Lower if I have to make fine adjustments (it takes 3 drops to lower pH of a gallon by 0.1).

This is RO water from the walmart dispenser and is usually mid 6’s and 10-30ppm! I go to the next town over cuz they are fancy and rich and have a good water source! The shit at the grocery store less than 10min up the street is on same source as my house so mid 7’s+!

How do you feed now? This question confuses me. How have you ph’d your nutes before? Advanced nutrients ph perfect?
