That is not depicting lock-out. It is the optimum PH range for the elements uptake. It is very accurate for Soil. The green area shifts to the left starting at 5.8 to 6.8 for peat based substrates; then 5.5 to 6.5 for all forms of hydroponics.

Good tools are the cat's meow!

I finally fixed my truck. I was at my wits end. Yesterday we put a new fuel pump and filter, Adjusted the air gap in the distributor, new plug wires, swapped back and forth the air box and igniter coil off a running truck and she was still bucking on the way home. So I thought to my self go old school. Back in the 60s before all of the diagnostic tools nowadays. If a car ran poorly you put in a new set of spark plugs. Even though it passed smog and all cylinders showed equal firing on the scope the number 4 plug was fouled. I have never had a bad plug not show on a scope and it is why it took so dam long to find. I trusted the scope. Anyhow I put a new set of plugs in and she purrs like a kitten and scoots down the road.

The number 4 plug is fouled with oil which means the valve guide needs a seal. I already scheduled the job.

Would that not mean that ph outside if those optimal values would lead to a decreased uptake of those nutes, leading to a deficiency? Is there a way to calculate an optimal water ph to keep the soil ph in that optimal range?

Motors, blooming money pits!! On the up side that feeling when you finally cracked a difficult job and all that hard work seems worth it. Bleeding knuckles heal and stress levels recede, but you will always remember that first drive after you fixed her.

I practically built a new car pick-up piece at a time :crying:. I gota tell you the stress level went right down as soon as I hit the vape after fixing the truck. :baked:

Yeah, I abused my young self, but that was nothing compared to the Navy. I had fun for the most part. Could have used a few less insanely intense moments and more insanely boring moments.......................or more on the beach partying my ass off around the world. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :woohoo1::woohoo1:
When I started fishing, I saw that a lot of the old-timers had bum joints so I told myself I'd try and avoid all that...I was not 100% successful at that:rofl::crying:

Yes if you get your PH out of range all manor of ugliness happens. That is why we pay so much attention to it. If you always water and fertigate good soil with PH 6.4 - 6.6 your soil will stay in range. The quality of the soil is important here. To monitor the soil PH get an Accurate 8 soil probe or the clone of it or a Blue Lab or other high quality probe. The cheap ones don't work.

LOL! I've had easier times making a race car pass AZ silly ass smog check. Used to play and do all sort of with the tune.
Even with some stout cams and stuff, I could usually get them to run well enough to easily pass with a large margin.
You were slacking! Spark plugs are #1 things to replace on any vehicle that's remotely questionable in passing smog.

No smog check is great!!!:woohoo1::thumbsup::woohoo::eyebrows:

I'll have to add the soil probe to my Christmas list lol. For now I'll just focus on keeping the water in the right range and keep my fingers crossed :rofl: anything has to be better than the 7.8 I've been watering at.

The great thing about 7.8pH tap water is you almost don't even need soap. It's almost strong enough to saponify the oils right on your skin.

Ty @Mañ'O'Green for the rep I know this problem tooo well and Kudo's to you for the diagnosis. My current project has the same problem and I am still chasing it. It's an older motorcycle and I may have it as good as it get's ? When parts are hard to get and iffy compounds the issue. :coffee:

Partied with crabbers in the 70's in Seattle. Those dudes really put on a party.. trays of king crab, booze, nose candy, weed, sometimes a live band. The hazards weren't always on the water with them :rofl:
