@PinkyNotTheBrain We use Yucca Powder primarily as a surfactant but it does have some value as food for microbes also. This is the reason it is good for composting. As a surfactant It can help to keep drip emitters from becoming clogged in irrigation systems. Primarily we want to prevent the grow media from becoming hydrophobic and forming dry pockets in the pot.

If you ever have a pot accidentally get too dry Yucca Powder will help to re-wet the soil.
