I stay away from school board meetings. Schools are just about getting kids into the next grade with as little problems as possible. Just politics. This new math is weird, but math in grade school is really about logical thinking and problem solving and this is just a different way about it. Weirds me out but the math is far from the top of the list of things to be concerned about in school these days. World is a mile away from what it was when I was my kids age

It is a different method, it's just illogical.
As far as the problem-solving aspect, I do have to disagree. From what I can see, they put out the info and the kids are just supposed to swallow it. No critical thinking and coming to their own conclusions. The vast amount of time, all they teach is the damn advancement test.
It's a damn shame the standards in our education system has declined so damn far from when I was a kid. I remember when they began to lower the grading standards while I was in school. It's only gone down hill since then. Crying shame, especially what it could be with all the technology improvements since then. Yeah, I know some things have improved, just not what it could have been.

I completely agree with almost all of this. It's just that information is now easily force fed, so the teaching now needs to be focused on the digestion of the information. Used to be that anything that was printed was truth, but that's not the case at all anymore. Even look around here; and this is the best source of cannabis growing info you can find, and you still have to filter information on your own that will come from some great growers and at the same time come from Internet people. That skill is a big part of life now

The thing now is that information is everywhere, so what really needs to be taught is the process of filtering out all the bullshit and learning what is real information and applying that. When most of us grew up we had to figure out the solution to a problem. Now things are googled and that's just the way it is and the way it's really going to be... So the learning now needs to be focused on filtering out the bullshit

Ya do have a very valid point..............BUT..............and that's a BIG Butt!
That just makes critical thinking that much more of an important skill to acquire. Sad thing is that in this world today, a large percentage of parents are just not that involved in their kids' education.

I dunno. I just think it's sad that more kids can slip thru the cracks and not live up to their potential.

My temp stays around 72°f ATM but I'm at 24hr a day....soon as I turn lights out the rh surpasses the temp....I don't have a heater...I did buy a bigger dehumidifier along with my 30 pint....a 50 pint...

Where does the exhaust from your tent go? Are you just venting it back into the space it is in? This is just trouble if you are. If not and it is venting outdoors as it should speed up the fan to bring the RH down.
