HA! Where I lived in Charleston, there a bunch of horse carriage tours. Those horses can can flood a small street! They have a truck with water and some other chemical that comes around and hoses the streets and/or shovels up the crap. The tour guides throw these little flag things that are attached to half a rubber ball to flag the spots. Factor in 100*(F) and 95% humidity and the combo is not good for your proboscis!

In the UK they have street drains ... wet sewers....and lots and lots of rain...wet soil seems to dampen smells.....so most everything is Flushed away without the need...

But here...I honestly Think it is because we are so Dry...smells sit and Fester..the land does not seem to absorb them....so I get it.....

We heat with fuel oil in this part of the country. Average across the winter is 140 gallons a month. pricing right now about $7.00 a gallon.... so I'm looking at almost $1000 a month for Dec. to March to heat my home. Thankfully my electricity is from Hydro power and i have a contract guarantying $0.12/kwh. Going to run with the growroom door open to let the heat out into the rest of the house!

Not getting Political........or we will be in Trouble.....

Spain is being very quiet about the electricity.......not a lot being said.......
And...we don't have mains gas in our town....it is all bottled gas that comes from Algeria...I Think......
Local people think we'll be okay.....but for me...if the big European countries are going to run out of gas...they go for the bottled option...so they will go up....unavoidable....IMO.

I Look to the UK News.....coz I Think we'll all end up in the same melee......and it is very unsettlling.....

We are looking at what savings we can move about to send some money to my Mother to make sure she can stay warm in the winter...and still eat..


The UK government have a Warning on that these rises and shortages are Coming...Sept/October.....people will take that for a while....but if it goes on for a long time...I can see people taking to the streets........

On businesses there are no energy price caps....an example on the news was a small Cafe who were paying £200 per month for their electrics...and the New figure is £900 per month.

Businesses that have been closed down because of Covid and are just trying to get going again will be wiped out......I Think it is almost Inevitible....

But..hey...they might pull something out of the hat........I just can't See What.......

Woof.....we have fuel oil in the house for the heating water. We haven't had to fill it in a while...coz Covid stopped the kids/family getting over to use it....
but our oil is usually almost double the US price......

That was a TOTAL waste of two hours! I got handed around to a bunch of clueless damn retards with NOTHING to show for it!
I was in the town with the closest VA clinic last week. There was an Army Vet that worked there that KNOWS his job and can get things done. I went to the clinic to see if he could solve my problems.
Well, guess what? It was CLOSED! I knew they had plans of a new clinic, so I go to the VA website. All I could find was a notice that it was closed............. but it didn't show a new location! My phone was about dead, so I didn't call them. I guess need to see if they are actually relocated and open and some IT retard hasn't updated the website.

And some people WANT govt healthcare!!!

Thanks! Yup! It is a damn shame what the VA is doing now. It's so much like when Clinton was in office, it's pathetic.
During 1993-2001, The VA sent me a letter saying 'We feel your condition has improved and have reduced your disability rating." That was without seeing me for a re-evaluation. I had to hire an attorney! Same timeframe, they began taking back the disability compensation the Navy paid me at separation. I got a letter in the mail a few years later, stating that the recovering the disability compensation was deemed illegal in a court decree, but there was no recourse for me to recover it.
Whatever anyone's opinion of the past administration, it sure as hell changed all that pure bullshit with the VA. Every Vet I know personally, is having problems now and the Doc said the same thing with the 100 or so Vets under his care.
It's pathetic as hell!

They are and have been recouping my separation pay…
