I've been down an interesting research tangent reading you all post about rosin and presses. I think the only one I would be able to operate is one of the automatic hydraulic ones. This one caught my eye, that price is a bit steep.....

$4700 is a commitment My 12 ton cost like $300 to put together myself. Less of a learning curve though I guess

Yes, I am willing to pay the price for convenience. I don't know if I need a $5k amount of convenience......

Really? I thought they would take a bit of effort to press and hold for long enough.

Nope. The machine does the work and pretty much holds it by itself. Mine is oversized for what I use it for but I definitely have to pay more attention to keeping the pressure low then really squeezing it. I have a bad right arm and can't even open a bottle with it, but the "arm" for the press gives plenty of force. It's a 12ton press but probably only using like 2ton of force for rosin. Everything here was like $300 when I did it, maybe 400 now. Only tools were a wrench and a socket wrench just to put the feet on the frame

This is exactly the whole setup I have. Only other things needed are bags and silicone paper. Everything else you see here is included with these 2 things. Could probably go smaller, don't really think more then 6ton is needed but I can work this easily. Whole setup is 20 bolts and nuts of the same size and 2 screws that need Allen keys

But I do see the price is up. Only issue with this setup is it does take up a lot of space

I think @Mañ'O'Green rig is a true custom build. The dabpress kit is really just a prebuilt version of what he made. @Dale's Proper Bud has a good thread too for his rig, which is basically the middle of mine and MOG's. Gonna need some metalworking skills for theirs though, which I don't have
