Sweet Seeds Killernecrox's Second Grow | Fast Bud #2 |140W Led & 5L Airpot

I would love to use another type of soil but in my country it is very limited and the soils are mostly local not internationally known.

On my first grow i was also using this soil but i did not had all this problems but why now. It is very strange.

Yuo might look on sleez-bay and get your self a pound or so of perlite and add it.... every grow is different bud each breed needs its own specials. if you know what i mean.

he can't add perlite now... unless i miss a way. cannabis needs clean fluffy well aerated growing medium. i don't like that you don't have perlite in it, i also don't like these pieces of wood/rocks or whatever these are inside your soil... your plants are small enough to manage to get rid of the most of this soil and transplant them with a new better.

try in your next grow a soiless medium.. peat moss/perlite 50/50 or 70/30..

Yeah guys i understand the fuss about the medium i'm using but honestly i do no think it is because of the medium but i might be wrong. I'm open to all suggestions. I compared my first grow and my second grow and what changes was made, i changed to air pots and led and maybe that's why ? It can't be the ph is off because on my first grow i didn't test ph at all.

And also i remembered Aunt Mossy telling me that J Arthur Bower's Multi-Purpose Compost with added John Innes is one of the best compo and i can start my seedlings in it.

I'm troubleshooting as to why my growth is so slow and i got a few conclusions.

1 : I have been watering with tap water all along and i didn't ph adjust it before watering so it has been 7.3-7.8 ph all along which is high. What i don't get is that my previous grow which i used the same tap water was bigger than my current grow.

2: I think i should have started with my 60w daylight cfl instead of my led. I am already planning for my next grow which is to use my 60w cfl till they are week 3 before changing over to LED.

3: This is the first time i'm using air pot and i'm also thinking one of the possibilities is that my medium dried out too fast and stayed dried for too long but it is highly unlikely that this is the cause of the slow growth.

This time round i adjusted my ph to 6.8. I am thinking if i should do 6.5 instead, maybe on the next watering ? (Suggestions?)

Day - 22
PH in - 6.8
PH run off - 6.8

Feed - 1/4 veg nute & 1/2 tsp of blackstrap molasses to 1.5 litre water bottle.

Temperature - 29.5 celcius
Humidity - 65%
Height - One and half inches
Led height - 23 inches away

Hi mate!

Sorry for the late reply. Although GoAuto6 is giving you some good help and advice...

1. That's a possibility. Maybe in your previous grow you were using a different soil and the wrong pH did not affect them as much. The soil as some nutrients that can only be used by the plants if it has the right pH, so it could even be a problem with the soils pH.

2. Yes, much better to start with CFL. I always start with CFL for at least the first 8 days, because it allows me to have the light almost touching the plants and with that they develop to their maximum potential in the first days.

3. That's also possible. I personally never tried but I would use airpots only when I transplant them. I would do the first 2 weeks in a small regular pot, like a 500ml pot, and at day 15-20 I'd transplant them to the airpots.

Sweet smokes!

Thanks GoAuto6!

I am using
J Arthur Bowers Multi-Purpose with added John Innes Compost

Thanks psynobi for being here. Can you explain why you don't like my soil ?

The soil looks too heavy and hard in the pics. It is supposed to be as light and "airy" as possible.

That's probably the reason why psynobi said that ;)

You changed to LED, but what light did you use before? CFL or HPS?

Besides the changes you mention I would also like to know if the experience happened in the same season of the year... Was it also in the winter?

Sweet smokes!

Note: Oh... and psynobi just cleared out the soil comment now, so I was kinda right when I said that before I red his post. Some key words: "fluffy well aerated growing medium"

Thanks psynobi, for the help and for being around.

On my last grow i used the same soil, same water but different pot and light. Before that i was using CFLs till about 3/4 of the grow before changing over to LED.

My last grow ended close to november/december. The thing is, temperature and humidity since then till now is the same.

I am thinking of another possible mistake is : I am totally new to air pot and first i assembled them up following the video(instructional video teaching how to use air pots) and i filled the pot with my medium. Thing is the video said to pack it in as much as possible so i pushed the soil down and added more soil and continued till it was full. Maybe this was partly the reason ? But the video said to push it down and make it compact because the air pots gives plenty of air flow.

Do you think i should change my LED to my 60w daylight cfl ?

I was also thinking of culling one of them and starting a new grow. Would that be better ?
