Sweet Seeds Killernecrox's Second Grow | Fast Bud #2 |140W Led & 5L Airpot

Alright i will hit either Namvet or Goauto later on :pighug:

They don't really look stretched. It's just that they only have one set of fingered leaves which was the same as day 8. I see other grow journals and they have more than 3 set of fingered leaves by week 2.

Week two report

Hey everyone! So i was saying that my week two plant looks like a week one plant and i was wondering why is the growth so slow and i found out today that the leaves are kinda drooping and they look a little pale green which i'm thinking they are N hungry or cal/mag deficiency which is very common with LEDs because the plants use up nutes faster i guess ?

Day - 15
Feed - 1/8 veg nute & 1/4 tsp of blackstrap molasses to 1.5 litre water bottle.
Temperature - 29 celcius
Humidity - 60%
Height - Both standing around the one inch point.
Led height - 24 inches away

I wasted 2 diesel berry seeds(one got thrown and another didn't germinate), northern light seeds (didn't germinate) and if my fast bud #2 doesn't make it, i have wasted a lot of time.

Please do give your advice and opinions.

A seedling that small shouldn't have any defficencies.Just leave her alone and maybe get the pots off the floor. The pots should be in a warm place. At her stage she is forming the roots and not growing much, this is normal, and she will start growing soon.

Thanks nam that was really reassuring but i have a few questions.

I know i shouldn't compare my plants with others but i feel that mine doesn't have much growth since week 1 till now and my week two is so small compared to other growers.

I know a seedling that small shouldn't have deficiencies but what do you make of the pale yellow looking on them and also the droopy leaves. Underwater ? It is definitely not overwater because when i watered today, the pot was really light. Do you think a osillating fan would affect the roots with the breeze because of the air pot holes ?

Thanks namvet for coming over to my thread to help out.

ps:most week two i have seen doesn't look that small and my first grow which was started out on the balcony was bigger than this on week two, is it normal ?

which light schedule are you running? A seedling that gets too cold in a dark period will go pale, or if the fan has been a bit too strong, they only need to slightly twitch to strengthen. Something like cold would slow the growth for a few days. Maybe if the John inness is a bit too hot for the germination stage. I have used john inness in my early days, good to use, but after they are young plants, not so much from seed. What do you do though? Auto's do better if you start them in their final pots. It very inlikely there will be a cal mag issue at this stage. Back the light of a bit to see if you have any joy with that. I have stunted many seedlings with some leds I have being too close.

If I was you, I would buy a bottle of bio bizz and bio bloom. A fish tank, an air pump. Bio bizz nutes... grow sends the ph down and bloom send the ph up. If you measure you nutes out, buffer them in the fish tank, within 24 hours you can get it to the correct ph, without using ph up and down, just buffer it with air, it will also buffer itself in the soil so if you ad the veg nutes at ph 6.2 say, it will continue to rise in the soil. But the plants will be able to feed from the soil fast. Important, get a moisture probe!!!!!!!! now you are using air pots they are a marriage made in heaven. You will 100% know it's properly dry and there are Not damp spots. With regards to the bad times you have germinating seeds, I used to do all the tissue lark and all that, Now I just make sure the soil is warm and damp (light is not important at that stage), put the seed in the glass, when it sinks, plant it in soil and Keep warm. Even if you go 24-0 then switch to 20-4 or something after 3 weeks, your plants will be elite. All I do is poke my moisture probe through air pot, if its nearly dry I make a feed up, when it dries I give it an extra day, or til when the leaves point down, then feed it. I feed mine 2ml per litre of grow + at the minute (6ml per litre of bloom) lol. They are auto's too and look great. You remind me of me when I 1st started out in my 1st few grows. Don't be hard on yourself, you have a great attitude, but just remember to keep it simple. Good luck with the grow, I'm sure it will be ok. Fb#2 is a reasonably hardy strain so she will pull round for sure. Check the fan, check the temps at the bottom and top of your area. Really need to keep it between 23.6 and 30 for temps ideally. Someone else mentioned, get the pots of the floor, anything that doesn't take up much height. Make sure they are properly drained when you water them. It will be ok, 99% of the time, 1 minor change will change loads :-)

Hey!
Nice setup. Read through, sorry you had such a tough time getting started. I referenced your soils and they look like they have plenty of amendments so nutrients should not be needed for a while yet. I did not see mention of how much of your LED you are using. I think one of my mistakes in the beginning was too much LED. Those things put off a lot of light although it may not look like it to our eyes. I switched to a couple CFLs for a bit and they started doing better. It may have been a coincident, but I started my second two with just CFL and they shot right up. YMMV!! They are growing happily with the LED now and using the CFL as supplementary lighting.
One thing for sure, my first girl suffered the trials and tribulations of my inexpert care and has grown into a nice size plant with nice frosty buds. And I think that she may have done this in spite of me!!
Peace and happy growing, my friend.
Here's a double shot of :karma Cloud: :karma Cloud: for good measure!

A mate of mine grows in a an area very similar to your area. He balances his pots on 4 screws to let air get under there, whilst only costing himself the width of a screw of the final height, works a treat! :-)

Excellent idea. Whatever it is raised with, the importance is so significant! Air to the roots is vital, deficiencies galore with bad air flow.

Bottle tops :-) Will tell my mate about them, that's gotta be easier than screws. Lol
