I do a crappy job trimming. I've started keeping the main buds, just the best of the best, trimming off the fans and larger sugar leaves but leaving the rest of the buds in "poor bag-appeal" shape with leaves left around the bud. I read somewhere that it protects trichomes on the dried buds from breaking off as much during handling. That's not why I started doing it though. I just want to get through the task quickly.I just cut the fan leaves off before brown bags. I do the actual trim after they're done drying in the bags. I feel like the sugar leaves keep the buds from touching as much of the bag. And slow the dry a little. Small layer of buds in each bag. Lightly mix daily with my hand. Once they start getting close to dry I start combining the bags
Then I just strip the rest of the plant with my hand, rip-rip-rip and stick it in a bucket for hash oil. It's the best way to create ugly buds but I'm lazy so....
