New Grower Here we go... n00b grows in CoCo!

Yaay finally, a noob that's not asking for a feeding schedule. What a breath of fresh air man. Well done.
Less is best mate. If you think a lighter dose would be better then it usually is. Deficits are easily fixed by adding more and don't really do any damage. Toxicities cause serious harm and are harder to fix and diagnose.
They look sweet though man.

Here's some general rules for you.
Not an exact science but you can't go far wrong.
Feed wise, asuming they're growing properly they need 100ppm(NOT including the water) per week of veg.
4 week old plants needs 400ppm, 10 week old plant needs 1000ppm. Most strains take a little more during the stretch then level off once the buds start forming.
Once the buds are half formed you drop the Base nutes by half (roughly) and hit it with a PK booster.

Most strains can handle ppms a fair chunk higher than that but that's what they actually need.
Tops go yellow you up the micro nutes/calmag
Bottoms go yellow you up the Base nutes.
Brown rusty spots and you first make sure it's not caused from perspiration burn then up the calmag.
Leaves go dark or the tips claw down you lower the N which is in the Base nutes.
Tips burn is iether p or K I can't remember but if your not using a booster you'd lower the Base nutes. If you are using a booster then lower that.

As long as you keep the feed on the lighter side, up the doses a little at a time and stick to those rules then that's all you should ever need to know.

Again though, this is general guidelines you've still gotta judge it yourself.
I've got 7 week veg photos that are still on 450ppm and apart from a little iron Def they're fine but it's because I had to keep them small for a while.
I've also had autos that needed 1000ppm by week 6 cos I made them go massive.
As long as you stick to the lighter side though the worst that can happen is some leaves go a little bit yellow. When they do you just up the feed and problem solved. If nothings going yellow then they don't need anything more.
Hope that's helpful for ya buddy.
Keep it green

Damn man, nothing but respect for this post! Appreciate you stopping in and taking a look! I’m just jumping into it and getting it done, I don’t expect perfection from my first go around, just going to learn from my mistakes and progress with each grow!

I start lst around week 3 make sure you ancher stalk at base near soil so you dont shift your roots then bend away. I try to spiral my plant all the way around my grow bags makes em super bushy!

Few more days to go, I’m definitely going for the bush-like stature if possible.

Youre very welcome buddy.
Only a few nail it on their first grow. Mine didn't go too well. Had my blood pressure through the roof for a while lol.
Every days a school day though. You'll learn knew tricks as you go and do a bit better each time. Different things work for different people, you'll find your own method that works best. Untill then just stick to small changes at a time and you'll never go too far wrong.

Small change [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG]: Bought a new pH pen and calibration packets. I found out my generic yellow china cheap piece of crap was out buy 0.3. Got that kink all straightened out, and adjusted the feed from the 5.5 that it’s been at, to 5.8.

Day 16

Good morning AFN!

A few cups of coffee, a few puffs on the Hoss. Now we’re in good shape!

The CBD plant wasn’t looking so hot yesterday, that curved stem was making it almost lay down in the coco from the weight of the canopy, so I made it a brace out of a pipe cleaner. Seemed to do the trick! The leaves didn’t show any signs of stress or anything, but I didn’t like how it was laying on the coco.

This morning I figured I would run abit of a test, and see what works out best for me in the long run. Day 16 (for simplicity sake) for the plants, and they are all working on spitting out their 5th node. With the curved stem of the CBD, I’m going to simply LST this plant to control its shape, not going to top it. I topped the WW plant above its 4th node, and I FIM’d the EM above its 4th node. Curious to see the different effects on each plant.

Hopefully they take it like champs! As for feed right now, I mixed up 12L of RO last night, 6ml CaliMagic, 6ml Micro, 6ml Grow, 1.5ml Bloom, for a total of 356ppm. Going to start slowly bumping it up from this level, week to week, from here on out. That’s all for now, easy smoking! [emoji869]

Edit: I may have pinched abit more then I wanted too when I FIM’d the EM, so it may just be another topped plant.

2nd Edit: Definitely topped both, FIM will have to wait for another time.

Haha yeah I've got 3 of those yellow ones lying about. Longest one lasted was about 8 weeks lol. The cheap ppm pens are good though. Mines 2 years old and still absolutely spot on.

I like topping autos but not a fan of fimming. Done it twice and ended up with short stocky, overly crowded plants that needed loads of defol. Probably work out better if Id let em stretch a bit more but won't be trying it again to find out.

What’s the end-game difference between the two?

10 hours later...

Checked in on the plants, and a good sight to see before I call it a night. Both the girls who got topped have gone from being sad and droopy back to their happy selves. Mission successful!

Almost scary how fast they recover.
