New Grower Here we go... n00b grows in CoCo!

What’s the end-game difference between the two?

Fimmed ones are harder to train cos theyre bushier in the middle but can't say I noticed a difference in yield. Can get just as many cola without topping too so there's always the option that both practices are useless to be fair.
I almost always top though.gives you a symmetrical plant which is easier to work with. I get a better yield with topped vs untopped but it's one of these things that different growers will never really agree on. Some agree with it others don't and we're all too stubborn to change our minds lol

DAY 19 - The aroma has finally started to show up [emoji1786]

So for the past 5 days I’ve been feeding 1L of 356 ppm mix, been weening them back off of the strong stuff haha. They still are getting burnt tips, I should probably have it around the 300ppm range for these girls.

I decided to check the runoff today, so I cleaned all the drip trays out, and 30 mins after I fed them I collected each trays contents separately. WW was 865ppm, EM was 830ppm, and CBD was 836, each pH was 6.3. Not exactly the numbers I was looking for, so that needs to be changed. I diluted the mix down to 275ppm, and I plan feed each pot 1.5l for the next few days to try and flush some of that excess shit out of the plants. Right move? As for pH, I’m stumped. I feed every time at 5.6-5.8, yet runoff is still up at 6.3.

And they finally have just the slightest hint to them when I open the cabinet, loving it!

Nice one on those tops. Are you using RO water ? Well water maybe ? My water strait from the tap is above 300ppm , and I'm pretty sure we have the same source.

They lookin pretty good man , keep her up. I'm pretty jealous of those temps, you don't even need to wear a bunny hug or a toque in your garden.

Edit: ohh nm I see you are using RO. I liked your idea of putting the humidifier on the timer. I am going to try that and see if it helps my temps during lights off.

@MesaBoogie I moved to Northern AB 15 years ago from Speedy Creek, and I haven’t heard the term bunny hug since I left! [emoji23] You’re a True Saskie lol. The water up here is pretty bad, extremely hard and alkaline out of the tap, so I just fill a few 5gals up at the grocery store each week.

If you can put your humidifier on the same schedule as your light, it will definitely help out. It stays a few degrees warmer at lights out, and I found the humidity doesn’t drop too much in that short time period.

Early Christmas gifts for myself! Big thanks to @BigSm0 for the awesome additions to the cabinet. I hung a 3500k Autocob on either side of the Vipar, and all 3 lights are 36” above canopy at the moment.
