New Grower Here we go... n00b grows in CoCo!

Your ladies look wonderful and they’re off to a great start! One of my favorite parts of the grow ...

Your space is amazing, very nicely done. Your comment about cannabis cultivation and carpentry (and plumbing, heating, electrical etc. ) was just perfect. For a pursuit with such reputedly “lazy” followers, there sure seems to be a lot of very busy aficionados!

I’m subbing up! Welcome to AFN :headbang:

Good evening AFN!

Just got finished up in the garage with the 3 girls. Worked abit later tonight so was a few hours behind on the daily feeding. I pulled all the plants out and gave the floor a good scrub down. I had a thin sheet of plexi laying around, so I cut it to size and layed it in the cabinet for the floor. I figured just to have a protective piece, and an easy floor to clean/wipe down in there.

It wasn’t quite wide enough to cover the whole floor, but it was enough to cover what I needed.

Here’s some close up of the three plants. I noticed some more tip burn on the WW, I’m thinking that plant may need a slightly more diluted feed? What do you guys think?Should I just let it “grow” into the mix I have going? Or lower the PPMs?

The other 2 plants seem to be taking everything in stride, EM and CBD both have a slightly lesser version of the burn WW has.

I made a new mix of nutes tonight, as the first mix of 459ppm had run out. I was feeding approx. 1/2 - 3/4 of a solo cup sound the root zone. The new mix had the following mixed into 6L of RO water. 1.5ml ArmorSi, 3ml CaliMagic, 3.75ml Grow, 3.75ml Micro, and 0.9ml of bloom for a total of 432ppm after it was ph’d to 5.8. After each watering I hadn’t been noticing any real runoff. So tonight I whipped up a pretty hi-tech watering can (1.5l Dasani bottle with holes drilled into the lid), and gave each pot a good soaking with 1L of the new mix. Solid runoff on each plant, so I’m feeling better about that now.

Here’s another question for anybody who may have the answer. I took the runoff of one of the plants to check it’s TDS and PH. PPM in was 432 and PPM out was 446, which seems fairly close, and nothing to worry about. The PH on the other hand.... Going in at 5.8, tested at 6.8?? I do seem to have to PH down my feed each day, as it seems to become slightly more alkaline each day it sits. I’m wondering if I should make my feed 3-4-5 days in advance to let all the ph drifting settle? Or what do you think!?

Plexiglass looks good in there! At 10/12 days old, the ppm might be a bit rich, but I’m really not sure. Not a soil grower so I’m afraid I’m not much help here.

They are going to love those cobs!

Any training plans? I’ve had a lot of luck with topping at the 4th node, seems to go a long way towards evening out the canopy and using efficient light distance and preventing the Christmas tree effect.

When I use silica, I'll mix the nutes a day ahead of time so everything evens out by the time my girls are due for a feeding.
I don't use GH nutes, but you may want to try and see if they're prone to screwing with ph.
I don't think you're supposed to use armor-si for every feed, either. I can't remember...I'll have to go dig that bottle out and see.
:pass:

Other than your sloppy feed hand (lol) everything looks good for the ages they are.

I use GH nutes in DWC, though not the armor si. Haven’t seen that type of pH problem. But I do mix my nutrients fresh every time.

Wait... I thought it was a coco grow? Lol

I'm too lazy for DWC, although it's crossed my mind because I seems to smoke more than I can grow lol.

(...ya' know...That's really saying something about me.)

LOL, I love DWC. Can’t see switching now that I’ve got it figured out. My ladies are monsters, although I’m not sure if that’s lucky strain selection or the DWC effect.

Sounds like you might need a bigger grow space! :eyebrows::stir:
