Grow Mediums First time grower, first post. In need of some help.

great advice Pal & TX :kusht: Ive been using some zone with g13 babys now & it does clean the roots up nicely ,seems to do its job well & the PH is stable so my earlier thoughts on it could be wrong ! JP has enough root nutes already lol but could be a good one for you to try Pal ?

The PH is THE main thing Jp .... & TX has made me thing maybe you could change to the grow ratio with your GH if things dont look a lot better in the next couple of days ?

good luck mate :Sharing One:

How long should I give it? I'll have my calibration solution on weds and I also ordered more rapid start. When do you think I should switch to the hps light? I'm not sure if this helps any but I run my lights 24/0. Maybe that's why they are so small??

give it till then bud (wed) ...like Pal said ,its prob your PH thats the issue ? ,good idea to switch to 20/4 now though & let them have a rest ,the PPM dropping a bit is good

the 400 hps may be an idea as well ? cant hurt any so give it go :Sharing One:

My only problem with switching to 20/4 is that it may get too cold in the room for those 4 hours. It's like 3 degrees outside. I'll try to switch to hps today or tomorrow. Maybe a fresh rez change on weds if the girls aren't picking up.

The widow has improved from the other day. But still not growing any taller... not sure what's going on. I haven't switched to the hps yet. I will do it tomorrow. When should I switch nutes to grow or flower? Can you advise what the nute solution should be? I'll have more rapid start tomorrow along with the calibration solution. Any advise helps. Thanks.

no worries bud ,were all happy to help out but need feedback on how they respond before advising on what to do next .

1st get your meters calibrated asap & take some true readings ...get the PH in range ... keep checking PPM ,take notes maybe & give us as much info and pics on how they are doing since the res change ,then give them a bit of time to recover before going further
aunty-mossy-albums-mossy-wiggles-picture300831-atrollkillerf.gif
they had a rough time up to now & could take a few days even after everything is ok to show new growth .

patience bro :)

If you have trouble getting solution or the meter craps out, all else get down to a pool supply, hobby lobby (if US), or hardware store, hell even a pharmacy maybe and get a cheap pool test kit or ph test paper asap until then. At least you can verify the range you SHOULD be in. A little range either way won't hurt but you don't want to be way off for any length of time. "My 2 cents"
The cheap meters are not worth the hassle. Get a good one like HM or some such. I went through three of those cheapo yellow meters and they won't hold calibration for squat and the solution isn't cheap either.

ALWAYS have a backup.

BTW, a hard hit to the plant can slow or stop growth for a week or more. Been there done that! That's why mine was more than 60 days in veg (photo)! Took a while to get a grip on things in DWC. ANd I've been growin' outdoors since the '70s !

DW is the man! ( )

LOL!!!!

:peace:

Growth may have slowed due to shock, or just like anything there are growth spurts and rest periods. I wouldn't be too concerned. I went thru the same thing with my WW. they stopped for a bit then BANG! 2-3 inches a day!

Ok I got my calibration solution today! My ph meter was off by about .2 or so. So I adjusted the meter and ph'd the solution again. My ppm meter takes forever to get the number to stop jumping around. I can hold it there for about 5 mins then just say fuck it cuz my arm starts hurting... It's one of those blue cheap ones from amazon. Anyways seems as ppm are going up n down daily, especially when I have to keep adding ph down everyday. I shut off my mh light so I can let it cool down and then be able to switch to the hps. I'll put the hps bulb in about 30 mins from now. The widow leaves just look terrible. Crispy and brittle. Just shitty. The sweet cheese however looks much better. Not sure why that is. Any advice to fix these issues? I'll post some pics and wait for the next rez change advice.
