New Grower First Grow, Short Rider, 400W

Update Day 37

Well here's Day 37, Not really happy with how they are looking. Not sure wth is wrong with them. I've got them around 78°, I've been keeping pH the same (between 6.5-7), I've sprayed the leaves about 4 times with Epsom solution, I've given them Epsom with watering, but leaves still pretty much look the same. :(

I know this is going to hurt how big the buds form, but not sure what else to do.
Well here's updated pictures of the Short Riders and the 6 (took 2 tiny ones out) OO x KSB's.

They're such large, lush plants. Very nice. Do you think it might be a calcium deficiency? Looks to me like this:

But please get a second opinion!

Yeah they do kinda look like that. I've heard they looked like a Mg/Cal deficiency and was told to spray Epsom solution on them, but doesn't seem to help much.
Is there something else I should use for a Calcium deficiency? I'll have to look around and see what I can find. Should I just spray them with milk......j/k.

You should try to get your ph down to 6.3-6.5 and see if that helps.

I'll try. I just have a hard time getting it exact. I'm using drops as I don't have a meter. I'd like to get one asap, but with Xmas right around the corner and 2 Bdays back to back I might not beable to get one till Feb. I'll try and get it as close to 6.3-6.5 as I can for next watering.
Was thinking of giving them a dose of Lucas formula next watering to see if that would help, but I have no idea. It's just killing me to see them like they are and not being able to figure out what's wrong.

Update Day 41

Day 41 and not looking too good.
Still have problems with plants and I think they are not getting better.
It freaking sucks and it's freaking me out, but not sure what to do. Checking my pH after I bubble cause I think something in bubbler is changing the pH.
Need to get me a real pH tester, preferable a water one and a soil one, but not sure when that'll happen.

Well here's some updated pics. I have pics in the infirmary if anyone wants to see what problems I'm having.

Hey mate I too have had problems with bubbling. This might not apply to you because everybody's water has different properties. I too am new to growing but please hear me out.

After a bit of reading up i have found that the main difference between peoples water seems to be alkalinity, this is not a measure of ph but a measurement of how resistant to ph swings the water is.

As an example - My water comes bottled at 6.3 when I bubble it, it rises to 7.2-3. When i switch the pump off the ph slowly drops back down again.

I was ph'ing and buffering back to 6.3 after I had bubbled. Thats where i think the trouble started.. Judging by my run off I believe the water drops to about 5.6 some time After I pour it on the plants. I think this was causing lockout in my case.

My conclusion - I'm sure there is a happy medium somewhere but it would take some research and experimentation to get it right. However in my case I feel that I need to concentrate on what I know works for sure. I don't bubble my water anymore but I'm sure I will return to it once I have worked it out.

Maybe you could test your bubbled water and then test again a couple of days later to confirm this. If that is the case i would stop bubbling for a few days flush with 6.3 (or as close as you can get with your drips) until your run off looks good.

I am very hesitant with giving advice on here unless I know for sure and I can honestly say that bubbling has caused me problems. I am not knocking the amended water method because i know that it works great for some. I just feel that its success partially depends upon the alkalinity of the water.

It might also be a good idea to see if anybody more experienced can chime in.

here are some links:-
nutrient uptake chart - http://www.smart-fertilizer.com/load...ility ph.jpg
alkalinity explained - http://bcn.boulder.co.us/basin/data/NEW/info/Alk.html
judging by thishttp://www.autoflower.org/f7/basic-deficiencies-list-11.html?highlight=basic+deficiencies i think low ph is restricting calcium, magnesium and Molybdenum uptake.

really hope this helps

They are going sativa on you. Don't freak out they look fine mate. Very sativa in appearance though.. As the plants go into flower, sativas have a tendancy to droop a little since the lobes are just so long and heavy in the case of well fed plants.. Are you letting them dry between waterings? This normally spikes my sativas a bit.

Day 48

Day 48 and only 17 more days till day 65, so They are getting close. I know they may not be done at Day 65, but I'm just using that as a reference point. I know some get done sooner and some have got done later.

They are looking good/better. From looking at past threads of SR's mine seem to be way more bushy. Does that mean I should have pruned some leaves off or is it just a genetic thing?
I think the next watering I'm going to give them some Nutes and Epsom since it'll probably be getting close to starting to flush and wanted to give them some nutes before then.
Is it ok to use Molasses when flushing? I was thinking it should be since it's not chemicals, but really wasn't sure.

I'm going to start a thread in the Photo section for my OO x KSB's.

Here's some pics of my buddage, going to take some more pics of entire plants today, will update post with those later. Not too bad considering the problems I've had.

Snowryder has several phenotypes and the bush is one of them. Nothing to be concerned about. No pruning is necessary.

Everything is looking good. Your buds should fill in nicely over the last couple weeks and make for a nice harvest. I usually stop feeding anything when I flush but the molasses shouldn't hurt.
