New Grower First Grow Northern Lights in Homemade Grow Box

Hello everyone! New to the forum and just yesterday did an introductory post. This will be my first grow Journal.

I have built a wooden grow box equipped with a 6” AC Infinity in-line fan & controller, and a 600W Vivosun LED grow light. Got some cheap USB desk fans giving some circulation as well.

My grow box sits in my garage, and is holding temperatures between 80 and 85F, with relatively low humidity holding just under 50%.

Here’s a couple of pics of the box. I hope to update more on the plants later today (currently at Day 14 in the grow).

Congrats man! Great strain to grow out that was very productive for me and pretty dank after a 3 month cure. I have a completed grow journal that has daily entries if you want reference.

Congrats man! Great strain to grow out that was very productive for me and pretty dank after a 3 month cure. I have a completed grow journal that has daily entries if you want reference.

Thanks Archie. These are the 3 gal equivalent (8.4L) airpots. I’m beginning to think they may be a little big, but we’ll see. So far I’m not having to water as much as I would have thought with using Coco coir in airpots...

Looking really good, but I'll warn you if you are in the middle 80s in April this grow will probably go into early July so temperature management is going to be pretty important.

I love Northern Lights and if I could only grow one strain it would likely be NL. It's a good yield, potent, and generally tough as nails under adversity.

Thanks for the warning about the heat. Something I’ll definitely have to keep an eye on as this grow progresses and we get further into summer. I had the max temperature on my fan set to 85, so I think that may be why the temp is so high when the lights are on. When off, the temp drops by about 10-15F depending on what it’s like outside.

I adjusted the max temp down a few degrees when I got home today, and it has not gone above 80, so I may be safe as long as my garage doesn’t get too hot, as I don’t have conditioned air connected to my filtered passive intake vent.

Thanks for the link to your NL grow. I’ve looked through it a bit, and it looks like you got some good smoke from your NL autos. Hope mine has similar yield!

Quick update on the grow... Currently sitting at Day 14 from germination. Everything seems to be going well. They got a good feeding today using General Hydroponics Trio with CalMag supplement. Did a little LST on the larger of the 2 as well.
