Just rotate your pots a bit every day to keep the light, and growth, even.

Day 6 update

Hurray! Finally my Biobizz Root Juice and Formulex arrived today, so I'm gonna be starting the feeding before I switch to vegging nutes in a few weeks time.

Mixed in 1ml/litre of Root Juice and 1.5ml/litre of Formulex in with a litre of pH 7.6 water, brought it down to a perfectly balanced pH 7 solution! Checked it with my PPM/EC meter to ensure I wasn't going overboard with it, the µS came up at 555. Using the KCl calibration conversion of 0.53, I came up with 555 x 0.53 = 294.15. Dividing that by 1000, I believe the EC of the water is currently at 0.29mS, which is slightly weak as I was aiming for approximately 0.4 for such a little plant. Just gonna leave it as it is for today to ensure I'm doing it properly :] The meter I use is the HM EC-3 (http://www.tdsmeter.com/products/ec3.html), calibrated with potassium chloride (KCl, http://www.tdsmeter.com/what-is?id=0019). Could someone make sure I'm measuring my EC right please? Pretty sure I am, but just want to make sure :] If I don't need to use the 0.53, then my EC is at 0.5mS.

Also measured the run-off of the soil, it's at pH 5.9.

If you're feeding at pH 7 and your run off is 5.9 that indicates that your soil pH is a bit low. I would suggest mixing some dolomite lime into your soil to raise the pH. Ideally you want to be feeding at about 6.5 and getting run off at about the same.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I'll order a bit now and see if I can alter it.
On a side note, were the EC calculations correct? Not sure if it's 0.5mS or 0.29mS.

Day 7 update

All is still going well, no signs of burning from yesterday's nutrients. The leaves on the plant seem to be curling a little though, have a look at this picture:

I've disconnected the carbon filter for the time being so that my airflow can be improved, as shown:

Does anyone have any ideas what could be up? The temperature readings in the tent are being odd. One meter says it's 87°F, the other says it's 82°F and the probe says it's 82°F as well. The one that's reading 87°F is visible on the second picture, it's underneath the light and it's plastic. It's also reading roughly 22% humidity, which I think is a little too low, so I put a jug of water there to see if it increases.

Also is it me or does it seem a little short for 7 days old? I raised the light up a bit to see if that'll help promote vertical growth.

The temp will differ depending on where the thermometer is located. Your girls look good and once that third or fourth leave comes in it will speed up quite a bit.

Can't help you on that one as I don't use EC readings, only pH and ppm.

I agree with Namvet on the temps, probably just the location of your probes. The best place to measure is right at the canopy top.

Right now most of your new growth is going into creating roots so you won't see a whole lot of vertical growth just yet.

I met a grower who grows inside right through the heat of the summer in pots of pro mix. I'm shutting my grow down for July and August because of the heat.

He has a freezer and about thirty ice trays. Every day he fills all the trays and then empties them into a five gallon bucket. He goes into his grow tent and puts the ice cubes around the bottom of the plant on top of the pro mix. He says it keeps the roots cooler and slow waters them. He claims the plants thrive even it the temperatures in the room rise to over a hundred degrees. I really don't know if this works but he say it does.

Just another new twist. Ain't growing fun always something new. I'm gonna give it a try with a few plants in my carousel room. It never hurts to try. This old dog can learn new tricks. I learned this one from a guy in his twenties. Besides all the young guys think I'm cool. We got a new thirty year old female in our breeders group. Yup she is single. Maybe we need a pot growers lonley hearts club section in out site. Hey hey. Have a great mothr's day all you wonderful mother's.
