Harvest & Curing Best Quick dry method

Ok, first of all i must point out that Quick Drying buds is a very stupid thing to do!!!
Its a massive NO NO!!!

No oven, no microwave or any other thing can make your buds as they would be if dried as they should be. At a room temperature, in a dark place with no more than 50% humidity.

BUT!

Sometimes various circumstances forces you to quick dry some buds. IF you really have to QD em, then do it like this.

It will take roughly 36 hours.

First of all, u should leave your plant growing in a totally dried out medium for the last couple of days (only done this in soil, dunno how hydro would result). When you see leaves unable to support them selves its time to harvest your plant.

First of all, you should cut the buds off, leaving as little stem on the bud as possible. Put your buds in a carton box (any box would do, but must be sealed. No external air can get in!), try to install a horizontal netting, so your buds can dry all-around. (i hope i expressed my self right, im from EU hehe)

When you have your buds set up on the net evenly, put one of those One-Time-Use dehumidifier (small plastic box...you just open the lid and its ready to use - u know what i mean). Leave your buds in for 24 - 36 hours, check on them as long they dont get as dry as u would like em. But they will certainly be ready in 36 hours tops.

Now, this technique is so interesting because i can get dry buds in less than 36 hours, and the final product is not so much worse than correctly dried buds. Actually i didnt see any difference at all.

Im using this technique ever since. Im kinda forced to, i dry them outdoors. Have these boxes set up in the near forest. My dad would kill me if he knew i was growing. hehehhe.

So, if you really have to quick dry em, do it like this. Hope it helps.

Do you have a link to those single use dehumidifiers? I can't seem to find anything on google about them. Thanks! Sounds like a nice method. I personally stick them in my big dehydrator at 85-90 F for a day or two. Loads of air running around.

well we gote some others in my area but this would do fine as well.

I would recommend not to blow air on your buds while drying. They might get crispy.

trying this right now, except instead of a tablet i found this tub filled with crystals that sucks up humidity. so far ive only dried a couple lower pop nugs for testing and my hygrometer says its working quite nicely. good setup

The best thing is these "one time use" things can actually be resued. There is also no need for it to be "quick dry", if you only put a bit of the calcium chloride crystals in the drying chamber then it dries it much slower.

People use these to dry mushrooms bone dry. To recharge it you simply heat up the liquid and boil off the water it has absorbed, it can look totally clear if it absorbs enough. I put mine in bowls and microwave them, you must be careful since if it fully dries in the microwave it can get to extremely high temps, I mean EXTREME, it broke a plate in my microwave and the heat transfered out the bottom of the microwave and burnt the table it was on. There is no real need for it to be microwaved until bone dry, it can also be done in an oven.

This is ideal for stealth, I put the weed in brown bags in a 15L airtight container with a bowl of crystals. There is absolutely no smell from the box as it is sealed. This also means you could dry outside, even if it is pissing down rain.

IF its for personal use, water cure them. This takes VERY little space, gives BEST results. The plant material goes freshly into the water and is ready to come out within 3-7 days. The soaked bud takes anywhere from 0.5 - 1.5 days to totally dry through as about 80% of the plant material is not in the bud anymore.. (this is the purest bud you can get). No psychoactives leave the bud, unless you are forcefull with how you handle the bud and trichomes actualy ditatch. I can write-up a complete walkthrough if you wan't. Just keep in mind that this method takes away more weight than air drying and makes the bud will loose most taste, most smell, it changes color to something much darker (especialy if done patiently). I would say its nearly like kief on a stick. All in all, this is much healthier and tokes much more viciously..
