Hi Guys, I am new here. I am a loyal reader of dutch-passion blog and because of that, I am here.
I have been watching these thread from the beginning and I am so amaze. I wanna thank all you guys for educating me. I am a novice grower who always grow outdoor in soil. I have been looking for information about hyproponic and LED for a long time. This is a different between nigth a day, my whole paradigm has been shift. From now on DWC will be part of my growing arsenaal. I already order my share of 'Think Different' seeds. I think this was the best name giving to this plant. Three more weeks to go.
I am curious what the end result would be. I would like to know more about your 'climate control' seymour. How do you manage fresh air in and what kind of blower (and carbon filter) do you use? How do you manage a constant temparature and relative humidity in such a little space? Do you give the plant extra carbon dioxide? Looking foreward to your reply.
thanks for your comments and its nice to see im encouraging people to "think different"
growing with l.e.d lights is a lot different to growing with hps, the biggest reason people run intake and out take is purely because the amount of heat generated by the hps bulbs, with a hps bulb you need to pull loads of heat out of the grow room and replace it with fresh air so many times an hour to keep the enviroment stable, most of a hps energy is lost in heat and only a small percent of the actual watts used is focused on growing the plants
with an l.e.d setup they produce very little heat so the need to run intake/outake is reduced because the enviroment stays stable pretty much all the time, its like growing with cfls but getting the results of hps, i have a fan inside the grow room which is blowing and exchanging the air around the plants , my tent also has vents that supply fresh oxygen, il open the doors at least 3 times a day so the whole space will get exchanged, the biggest thing for me is keeping the temps up and not down but 90% of the time they are in the right range for growing
my carbon filter is a rhino with acosutic fan and ducting, i spent so much time looking into alternatives to control the smell emmited from my grow space as i really didnt want to run a carbon filter, i looked into uvonair and de-ionosiers also ona gel products etc etc but they all had negative downsides so i really was forced to take the carbon filter route
as for controlling humidity again its all about temprature control, when the hot temps cool down and they hit a dew point thats when you start to get humidity build up, i dont worry about having any humidity problems in veg but in flower ill run a dehumdifier just to keep the humidity constant between 40-50% but thats only run on the low setting and i empty that about every 5 days
hope this helps
cheers for the comments everyone appreciated as always
