I know you have already decided but thought I would throw in my two cents. First off, I have not cleaned my rez since I started using MC back around the first of July. When it’s time to switch to bloom I mix up a fresh batch and add it to whatever is already in there. It’s like a cross over dose, part veg / part bloom.
Me too...

Hi peeps! Looking good all round so far.. I was just wondering going forward if anyone’s had or going to have problems with the pipes from the pump to the air domes blocking up.

I can see some peeps are and some aren’t using domes, just something worth bearing in mind as all four of mine are pretty much totally blocked at about five weeks.

This is the 3rd or 4th grow with these domes, they were cleaned thoroughly between each grow tho.

Something deffo worth keeping an eye on. [emoji851]

Cheers.

I won't be using domes for my test, I'm using as it was sent besides the 4 shut-off's I added on...did you leave yourself an end of line with a shut-off on it, so you can weekly flush the lines? I have shut at res, at each pot and also at end of a line to clear out every now & then...Plus it might come down to types of nutrients, Some of Us are using Dutchpro which should not have that problem..Not sure what type your using..

Yep, I’ve got valves here there and everywhere. It can be a challenge to remember to switch them back on after doing stuff... [emoji6]

That’s not the issue tho mate, it’s the air line that goes from the air pump into the air dome at the bottom of the pot. No liquids or nutrients go down these ones, just air for bubbles.

I’m using Canna A&B for coco, Canna mono cal and mag, Dutch Pro take root and a bit of liquid silicone here and there.

I never checked before during a grow if the air domes were actually working but I’ve had a touch of root rot on this grow (only on one plant out of four) so I’ve checked everything out and this is what I found.

Gonna ram some air down the pipes with a syringe tomorrow and see what happens. [emoji41]

oh sorry I misunderstood what you said the first time... Now I understand, that is odd for them to clog up... but that could still come back to nutrients or your water causing that...since water is right in the same area, maybe salt build up from the type of nutes or hard water build up, hard to say, but it has to be one of them or maybe combo of both and/or possibly not enough air flow through them? is maybe the medium compacting? lots of things it could be..

Yep, something’s clogging it up and I won’t find out what until the grow’s over. The water is very hard here. Could be that or it could just be full of roots.. maybe grit off the pebbles... ? [emoji848]

Not sure, but it’s definitely happening.

I believe it is..... is your air pump putting enough out? could be maybe the airline come off? I guess no real way to know until the grow all over with...

The pump’s working fine. I can’t force air down the pipes with my mouth so a fish tank airstone pump isn’t gonna stand a chance.

Today’s mission: buy big syringe. [emoji41]

Does yours have the harder style plastic tube that goes to the airdome like mine? I had mine pop off when just getting them adjusted in the bottom when filling with coco. I'm going to use the black silicone airline tubing I have next time to replace it.
