Lighting A-Train's DIY, Mars 1200 LED to COB !!!!!

Yeah that will be top bin for that color and chip. The data sheets break down the rest of the product code but that's the important part. Beside it to the right, the 30 indicates 3000k probably also useful to know lol.

Chiplok ones are the favorite I think. Cutter categorizes by chips, so it's easy to find accessories. I wouldn't use reflectors, since this is going in the center of your tent, maximum spread is best.

Back order though. Maybe copy the product code and try Newark/mouser. Or hit them with an email on stock time(may just be a week or something)

Ok so after a little more machining at work tonight here's where we are.

Obviously when I get home the rest of the components will mount and the left side will match the right.

Next I'll start work on a plate to hold the power connection as well as the on/off switch

If those are the cheap mars fans I'd go ahead and upgrade to a quiet fan that moves more cfm than they do. Honestly they are cheap $3 fans that for $20 you can upgrade to two new fans that are quieter and better, which in turn will keep your light cooler. As people have said here a hot LED isn't as good as a cool LED. Looking good man, can't wait to see how it finishes out for you.

Ok fellas bear with me I'm almost done. All I have now is some wiring and bolting everything on. ..... then I'll have to buy holders and my cob and it's go time.

@Atulip @pop22 I am lost when it comes to all this. Ok remember my drivers have the .7A and 111W output when checked on a meter. Before I purchase cob and mounts I have to pick yalls brain again.

All the different light mess me up man. I have seen CXB2530 CXB3070 wich is in my amare and I have seen tasty putting out CXB3590

My question is this with the two drivers I have mounted what's the best setup ypu could think of with out price as a decision maker.

I'm sure 2 CXB3590 top bin would boost my flowering as well right ..... or would you still run the 4 top bin cxb2530

I saw the cxb3590 data sheet had something about 36 or 72 watt chips. Ahhh screw it I'm going to research more I'm lost in my own mind

Cxb2530 36v is 46% efficient(2 per driver, ~$24), Cxb3590 72v is 56% efficient at that current(1 per driver, ~$40), cxb3070 36v is 59% efficient (2 per driver, ~$65), cxb3590 36v is 64% efficient (2 per driver, ~$80)

So it's more a matter of how much you want to invest. Each setup will pull around the same watts at the wall.

Ok well you already know I respect your opinion. You are my go to man on this. I know you hate the platinums lol. But they are staying in for veg then the cobs are to suppliment for flowering

Would you think the 2 cxb3950 72 volt 1 per driver will boost the middle area or would you run the 4 36v 2 per and do 4?

A pair of 72v 3590s on those drivers should add about 255PPF on the canopy for 100w(+fans and driver loss around 115w)

No platinum hate, but no idea what kind of light output they have. Assume 1.2umol/j for low efficiency, 432 PPF from 360w.

Puts you in that 750 ppfd area for a 3'x3'. Well spread out too, with 3 different lights, should do well.
