Lighting A-Train's DIY, Mars 1200 LED to COB !!!!!

those citizen 1212s are looking like great bang for the buck! About the same price or even cheaper than a CXA 2530, but harder to find a source. about twice as powerful too!
Unless you know of a source for cheap CXB 2540s,the ones I've found were all over $20. I got my 2530's for $9.50 each at Newark Element14

I used mid bin T2 chips. Current price for those is even cheaper $8.53 each. Top bin is $11.87 and IMO I'd buy a 1212 first.

I just bought Citizen CLU048 1812s from Northern Grow lights for $19 each. Only down side to them is it needs 50-56Volts making driver selection a little more difficult. I figured the 2530 would be a good match for his drivers and not push the drivers too hard.

Probably your best deal with cxb2530.

1212s from CDI are probably a better deal than mouser 2530s.

Those are 80cri cxa2530s so they'll be 41-42% efficient compared to the cxb2530 90cri t2 48-49%. Not seeing anything clu048/038 stocked at CDI and not sure else who has them. They have some bargain chips but they're not stocked anywhere unless you need a whole reel and want to wait two months lol.

The 72v cxb3590 starts looking good after that for $36, one per driver, but the voltage comes in a little low at 68v at .52A. For ~61% efficiency.

May find some deals on cxa/b3070s. ~60% for BB cxb3070, 2 per driver.

Are these LEDs color or just white?

White. Ranging from 2700k - 6500k. Most are using 3000k, 3500k, 4000k, or 5000k(veg)

Lots of great info in this thread!!!!!!! It's motivating for me!!!! I told myself I wouldn't DIY my MarsII until I had a handful of bad LEDs, and I went down and checked and sure enough, my older panel that has done almost all of my grows is finally starting to lose a few..

When do you plan on showcasing the light for a comparison??

I'm finishing up my platinum LED test now. I can't run it til it's over but 1 more plant to chop and I'll have it running. Take a look in the fast buds area it'll be running in it. ..... Pinapple express, girl scout cookies, gorilla glue and west coast OG

I can hardly wait to see your DIY in action. I like how you matched to the mars drivers to work with your selection.A-train
