Mephisto Genetics White Crack + Sour Livers SIP LOS Grow

Here is the reality of growing MOST autos. Each seed is different and it is very hard to replicate grows. Many factors effect each plants end result. Both of those strains typicall grow bushy, sometimes only minor training is best for bushy plants. That is actually why I like your Candy cane tech. You can train as much or little as you want. Sometimes only a couple of days are needed to train a branch and you can control the direction of growth to your needs. For example, I had to put 2 canes on a cola roget her the way I wanted her to go. In a couple days you can remove the canes and it will have stiffen up in the new direction. Now you may need to add one here and there, but it doesnt take long. Certain strains train easier than others. A thick Indica will have stiffer stems as they grow vs a tall sativa. Early training on stiff thick plants is easier to manipulate, but I prefer to train mostly in veg anyways. Stems are less stiff before flowering kicks in. Then only minor training is needed for light exposure and Airflow once in flower.

Over the years manage to accumulate a number of training tools .... Some are tent pegs but the larger ones are hanging plant extensions .... Here is a look at them most appropriately displayed on our XMAS Decoration Box

This AM I opted to do a little more training and as Slow stated, you can leave them on for awhile or remove them - it’s so quick and easy to do verses using wire and tying down all over and then trying to get wore tight and it goes on and on ..... With the Candy Canes you simply put in place and hang, just like on a Christmas Tree, it’s easy / quick and effective..... Note a couple CC holding down branch to allow light to lower bud sites and a larger CC holding down cola ...... Later today I’ll remove cola CC and figure out what’s next at that point .... Couple pics

This is 24 K - she is easy to work with

Gold Glue is stiffer and will require more attention to get her trained to what I think will produce best yield

I like to train with a 20$ bill also lol.

Are u getting in to the next round of mephisto battles ?

Are u getting in to the next round of mephisto battles ?

Depends on what I am doing at the time .... We are scheduled to head out to the west coast next year but not sure of exact date ..... When does the battle start, any idea? And a second hurdle - gotta wonder if Mephisto will have any stock!

Great stuff being discussed here! I'm kind of a training masochist. Most people may feel my methods are simply torture. I've actually never had a plant grow au naturally before. I feel I'm a little too obsessed with an even canopy and exposing all bud sites to first hand lights. Results are hard to argue though. Yields are great with little to no larfs. Just lots work but at least it keeps my hands from doing anything else dumb lol

Plus, peeps on AFN Seems to love the bouquet shape. Even though my plants cannot compare to most on here, I always seem to get brownie points from voters in battles. With such encouragement, hard to blame me for keep doing it LOL

Shots from last grow. Only tools I use are twisty ties.

Not sure I’ve ever seen training that extensive, you are really into it and it shows, nicely done!

Massive yields and impressive training. However, please dont take this the wrong way...I dont see much frost. Sometimes training Autos too much can extend the grow time beyond peak trichome production. What strains are those and how long did they go? I personally think with Autos the internal clock on some plants starts ticking and quality starts to degrade. But damn good skills you have. Try some nice Photos, I bet the trichome production is higher on the Photos for those big ass plants. Peace, slow

I do get very good frost on Sat doms or at least 50/50. I personally don't feel that the training does anything to frost. Training stops after they get all hard on the stems aka full on flower. They won't need it by then. My training is around week 3 to week 7 only.

The heat is my main culprit along with possibly too much nutes on the Ind doms. I understand it’s difficult for you guys to understand growing with hot and humid all year long. It’s something I have learned to deal with, just like you all with your environment.

The above shot, even after enlarging probably don’t show frost that well. All those plants were in battles so I’m pretty sure I showed trich shots in updates. The ind doms such as OG Kush, Bubba Kush and Thin Mint Crack really showed less smell and frost. But was really still decent. I know it can be better though. Hopefully my new setup next year will help me grow better ind doms.

And please don’t worry bout me taking anything wrongly. I’m young as hell in my grow life and am happy for any knowledge thrown my way. I’ve had some great luck with grows, battles, grow offs etc but I know I’m still a baby in this grow game. Most everyone here knows more than me. Don’t worry, I’m not that type of guy! LOL

Awesome attitude bro! Pics can be hard to see. The thing I tend to see with excessively trained autos is the Trichome production goes down due to the extended grow time of massive plants. Not the training, but the internal clock gets messed up if they have extended veg periods from training. But heat will def also decrease trichome production. You are doing a fantastic job. I am not sure what you use to feed? If you have heat issues, Silica can help with heat stress. But it sounds like you have a warm climate year round. Ours is really cold for 4 months, so its the opposite. Good work brother. Peacex slow
