Mephisto Genetics White Crack + Sour Livers SIP LOS Grow

Awesome attitude bro! Pics can be hard to see. The thing I tend to see with excessively trained autos is the Trichome production goes down due to the extended grow time of massive plants. Not the training, but the internal clock gets messed up if they have extended veg periods from training. But heat will def also decrease trichome production. You are doing a fantastic job. I am not sure what you use to feed? If you have heat issues, Silica can help with heat stress. But it sounds like you have a warm climate year round. Ours is really cold for 4 months, so its the opposite. Good work brother. Peacex slow
I feed with Megacrop and my soil has rock phosphate, azomite. I also happen to use Liquid Silicon as PH Up. So silica is most likely more than sufficient. Perhaps that’s how they even survive? Who knows?

The internal clock thing is interesting. I have the perfect chance to find out as I have a few plants that was burnt by hot sun. I mean really bad. So bad that some got shocked into full flower at week 3. Some recovered but delayed veg for sure. I’ll be and have been lowering nutes drastically. They are trained as usual. So let’s see how they each frost up in the end?

Yes, the internal clock is a reality. If you live in an area that is so intense that they get sunburned, I would be selective on strain choices. Sativa Dom will respond better, because most Sativas grow in warmer climates in nature. Sativas are used to the warmer temps, hence different bud structure vs Indica. I am assuming you grow Autos so you can get a few grows in per year under the sun. Otherwise I would suggest Sativa Dom photos, to allow for some downtime on light. I completely understand that you have to battle the elements. What are your average temps? Could you possibly put up some shades for few hours per day? Heat stress can make them veg longer, which throws off the Auto Internal Clock. Really anything that stresses them out enough can effect the total grow time. For example, lets say you train a plant pretty aggressively. That alone can lengthen the grow time a little. But if you train a plant aggressively and then it gets struck by heat stroke, that can sometimes delay flowering or some cases it triggers flowering in autos. This is kind of my point. Autos are unpredictable when it comes ro stress. Each seed can react differently. Regardless you are clearly very attentive to your plants. They survive because you are taking measures to help. Large pots are key. Are you feeding Mega
Crop V1 or V2. I hear they have V3 out now. What strength do you feed? Fwiw, Mega Crop extended Veg growth for my plants , even regular sized ones. And they pack on buds late in flower, but rather quickly when they kick into high gear. Have you tried other nutes in the past? Nice work, slow

Transplanted Strawberry Nugs rhis AM ....

Soil is alive, note all the worm activity ..... Worms eat the mulch and top dressings and then help aerate the soil providing oxygen to the roots AND they poop and carry nutrients to the roots ..... I see posts that claim they have “Living Organic Soil” or LOS and the truth is their soil was alive but somehow they killed it and without life it really is just good soil that is no longer alive - Don’t misunderstand, you can grow great plants but the best results come from soil that is truly alive .....

My bad. Forgot to mention mine is indoor grow. I just bring them out for a couple hours of sun a day. Used to be obsessed with it. Now, only occasionally especially after so many burns.

My grow space is pretty much an outdoor shed at the moment so although I use LED, its pretty much under outdoor elements.

After this round, gonna move the entire grow area into a room that will house two tents. With a tent, there'll be much more control and I hope to get better results too. At least I won't be totally helpless when sh!t hits the fan. To give you an idea, temps are almost never cooler than 25C. Hottest can get up to 38C at times. With rain, RH goes up to 90s and can last for weeks. At best, we get RH in 50s a couple hours in the day but that's usually accompanied by temps up to 36C. So you can see how much I'm looking forward to my new setup! Lol. Baby steps though. Gonna get my soil ready and start cooking right after this round. Then, gonna start purchasing and building my room/tent. After bout 6 weeks, the new grow should commence. At least that's the plan. It should have at least 2 photos that I'll try for the first time.

I use V1.0. As mentioned, gonna cut down drastically this round and use remainder on my fruit trees. Next round onwards, full organic with the aim of LOS.

I'll monitor my plants this round and see if I can spot this internal clock thing. But once I'm in tents, space and height becomes less restrictive. I may just let them all grow out naturally. Maybe top them. It should make a huge difference with all the reflective lights going on in a tent, that I probably won't need to train them that much.

Thank u so much for taking the time to teach me!

Most welcome GroBro - Thanks for all the likes from you as well .....

You will do great in the tent environment - Your passion shows ......

Might wanna consider starting a worm bin - I cannot express enough how important it is to have your own supply of castings and worms - Worms are the World’s BEST Gardeners - Hands Down ..... Or locally source good castings and worms ..... If your worms are happy in your soil chances are the plants are as well.

Peace,
MOB

Do you add any dry amendments to ur soil like fox farm or happy frog any mykoes?

I'm afraid I shared with you the reason for me having to purchase most stuff, instead of DIY. If you recall, its a wife thing. She don't grow or partakes. I already feel blessed that she supports me. Probably already pushing it with the expansion/upgrades. I really cannot bring myself to tell her I'm gonna start a worm/compost/fermentation of fish, plant, fruit station. LOL! The disgust on her face when I tell her about worm poop tea is enough for me to back off. There must always be give and take imo but in this case, I've taken much more than I gave. Lol

Besides, its not all that bad. I can get quality worm poop at a little over USD1 per kilogram, with shipping! A little over USD2.50 for a litre bottle of Fish Hydrolysate, FPJ, FFJ or IMO. All major amendments are pretty much available too. Funny thing is, the easiest stuff for you guys to find are exactly those I find hard to source locally. Kelp Meal and Malted barley powder are on my list of amendments to add but I may need to get them from a non local source.

I do love the idea of the worms in soil and dig how you use them as reflection of soil health. That's just one advantage I'd have to do without. I'll be sure to get all your opinions when the time comes. So sorry to be sidetracking your journal!

@Jc420bigbud Hey hi Jc ..... how’s it going - Any round number totals from your summer grow?

I don’t stay in the joint in the summer, too hot/humid there ...... Last year my buddy watched a couple plants for us but next year he won’t be around so unless I just plant a couple and let them go wild I won’t have anything growing but I should have something brewing in the tent ......

Yes I feed dry amendments along with leaf and / or straw mulch as well as root hormones and I add to the water either EM1 or Mammoth P every watering except maybe skip a watering here or there ...... Bio activity is important when you grow in a constant moist media - as we know the roots also need oxygen and EM1 and Mammoth P help create that bio actively - at least that is my understanding- all I know is I have good results doing, so I do - most top dressing is done as I see the worms need more matter to eat, red worms are BIG eaters so as they eat I add mulch and I’ll add dry amendments to that mulch - stufff like rock dust, alpha, kelp etc - I’ll change up the dry amendments as they go thru their life cycle as well .....

I will also add buildabud or something like Budswell to the water as she moves to bud stage and believe it or not I might even spray feed ...... Here’s some pics of my “additions“ ....

Alpha Pellets - Kelp - Karanja in bulk .... You can obtain this stuff cheap from a feed / farm supply store .... having a love for outdoor gardening I already had these on hand before I grew any weed

These next two pics are inside grow room and most are specific to the growing of weed .... kelp for example is simply something I’ve used for years and now I simply fill an old bag with shed supply stock

oh yea, happy wife happy life - stoners memory but it’s all coming back :pass: and that is perfectly alright so hows about this plan ......

Recycle kitchen waste and do the environment and our garden where I plant some nice flowers - let’s do a worm bin - well maybe that didn’t go over but you never fail until you stop trying but I get it worms are not for everyone but you might naturally get if local castings are good, there will be eggs in them - my buddy runs his castings thru a pretty fine strainer and invariably will find baby worms week or so after screening them, he puts some food on top of bucket and behold baby worms appear so you might naturally grow them if soil moisture stays in the 80-120 millibar range over the grow ......

With respect to sidetracking, no way brother, keep the posts coming - it’s all about sharing and expanding our knowledge base!
