Mephisto Genetics White Crack + Sour Livers SIP LOS Grow

Hey OB I'm really interested in seeing how your previous organic vegetable growing transfers over to cannabis as so far they really do look great and I love to learn new ways a techniques especially if they are organic. Nice to hear the law's being relaxed where you are, I think here in the UK we are still a decade or so away from that.

I will definitely be keeping my eye on the Sunshine light as I really need to get away from HPS but the fact you have those results from 4 florescent's shows I need to change what I am doing during veg. I already get quite decent results but If I could get the kind of veg you have there consistently then I think I could easily add 30% to 40% in both weight and quality come the end. Could I ask what wattage each tube is on your florescent I think I'm going to buy a couple today.

Thanks for all the info OB and I look forward to learning a few things.

Sure thing GroBro ..... You want a 2 foot 4 bulb T5 Light ..... While I couldn’t find the exact same light I have as it’s an oldie, like me, here is one on amazon - price is about right ..... 24 watt per bulb and 6500k on the color .......

Thanks OB, I think this might just change the game for me in a big way, especially combined with rootmakers :bighug:

Transplant Time and I really “flipped up” I got the girls mixed up so I have no clue if I transplanted Gold Glue or 24k ..... Sour Livers is history and Nugs is still a baby .....

Heres a root pic of the trashed plant, roots are very healthy - note NO Tap Root - no wasted time growing one either - RootMaker pots rock boys and girls ....

earthbox juniors have been sitting for a couple weeks now waiting on their new girls - note how high soil is - with the Original EarthBox I keep soil lower at first and top dressed but with the juniors I opted to mound soil up giving roots more room - I will still top dress the juniors with amendments but more mulch and EWC will be limited going forward

Removed cover and started digging out area for girl and lookie what we found, worms awaiting the new arrival - Worms are the World’s BEST Gardeners - I know some think I can get good results without and yes you can but add these guys to your mix and grow the VERY BEST, at least that’s my thinking ..... look into hole you’ll see a few just waiting to go to work .....

So now we have the hole dug, pot was placed inside hole and formed dirt around, removed pot and cut back / peeled back plastic and popped out little girl - filled around and mulch back into place - finding worms as I went along placing the mulch ..... a little spray mist along with some root goodies and a little Gro Kashi Top Dressing but very little and away from the plant not near her ......

As you can see she is actually above the soil and that is what I want, I want the roots to grow down into the soil - don’t worry those bare sides get covered

Before I slip the red cover on she looked like this - note I chose red as it is said to reflect light back under the plant but wtf do I know

Here she is in her new home .... Light is about 40” away and PAR Reading at plant level was a soft 250 ..... For the next 10-14 days light will stay at that height and I will slowly increase intensity from the 50% current up to 100% ...... Then I’ll slowly lower until I get down to 20ish inches or so .... I’ll be taking PAR Readings along the way

@Vicent Van Grow here is a pic of the light and another pic of the work the RootMaker does - this was second transplant I did - amazing root system - why I like the RootMaker is zero tap root - I grow in a low profile SIP Container and the roots need to travel sideways, not down, like in a traditional cloth or plastic pot so I don’t want a tap root, thus RootMaker was my choice ......

The light is a T5 - which emits some heat which you want cause you want your little hot house around 85ish ..... here’s the pics

Thanks OB, That root system sure is insane.

Wife and I were looking a little closer at the girl I trashed and it is amazing and even if you enlarge the photo you’ll see hundreds of tiny roots split off each going their own way seeking food for the plant ..... Absolutely killer roots made by the RootMaker pot, I would not do a start any other way.

What size RootMaker pots are you using? The roots look healthy. What was your hydration technique? How often and did you just bottom feed? The seedlings did not stretch much, they are nice and squat. The only thing I see is thst you really stuffed your Juniors full from the start. I hope you have enough room for the whole grow. Top dressing fills up those Juniors faster thsn you think. I am excited to see these go. What is the newer seedling that you have? I see you trashed one Sour Livers? The roots looked good, but she looked stressed. Good luck bro. I will be follwing closely. Peace, slow

Rootmaker Pots are the small starter pots https://myrootmaker.com/products/18-cell-tray-with-1020-web-flat ...... I have a T5 2’ light starting them that seems to produce nice starts - I’ve started lots of garden plants under this light before my journey into auto flowers .......

No bottom watering just moist soil and then I use a turkey blaster to keep them watered ..... My germination involves:

Scratch seed with some sandpaper
Soak in rain water for 24ish hours with a little vitamin B1 in the water - water is warmed up to 80ish degrees
Plant seed into Rootmaker - Soil already moist
Put plastic cover over pot and stick pot in humidity dome and wait - the thick plastic helps shade the pot until they germinate

Juniors were filled up and the plant was set high in the dirt mounded up/over ...... I’m not concerned about future top dressings I will use Craft Blend and feed the worms some new mulch as needed - the worms will help eat some of the bulk you see but yes I did put plenty of fuel in those little guys ....

So right now I have Gold Glue and 24k and the little girl is Strawberry Nugs - Sour Livers is in the worm bin.

Thanks for checking out slow!
