Waira's 2024 Auto + Photo Mash Up grow gig

I saw their product too when looking. It begs some questions about the sourcing... How many companies could there be doing this? And how likely is it that KIS and BaS are getting it from the same source? =
Like I said, this is the only new thing in the equation, but while I can't definitively place the blame on it, it's still logically suspect...
I followed their dosing guidelines though... I asked KIS and some guy (not Tad) gave me some WTF grade dosing levels, more like for making actual reconstituted coco-water vs. dilute plant dosing!

No solution that I can label as a "fix"... too late anyway!
Yeah, hammering away with hormones is a dice roll at best... the whole feedback/balance system in the plant isn't something I have a handle on, that's a plant physio' specialists' gig -
Best I can do is kelp it up, but the same mystery applies: what hormones and ratio's are in it? Company to company, batch to batch = more:shrug:
I like Bloom City brand CleanKelp...they use several kelp species, not just A. nodosum...
All I know is that kelp never fucked up my plants, sooo.....

Thanks Maria :bighug:... I'm resigned to having wonky proportioned plants this year, all there is to it! I run on a timeline tightrope as is, so any monkey-fuck sideways shit like this leaves me scrambling to deal with it in what little wiggle room for time I have...
More time would fix it mostly I'm sure, but that ain't happenin'... :smoker1:
Sorry for the delay. I had to do a little digging as it's been a while since I looked into the coconut water powder. Here's what I was able to find. It's non GMO certified and USDA certified as well as certified Vegan and Kosher. I don't have any data on the hormones unfortunately.

It does sound 'young (green) coconuts'.

@Waira
I think I remember Jeremy saying that they have a direct relationship with the company that actually harvests the coconuts. He did make mention of a problem with others sourcing coconut water due to some large area problem with the crops. And that's why some were having problems getting product.
Maybe, in order to meet the demand, some sources may have used more mature coconuts to do the Process.
I used the BAS coconut water in germination and early vegetated growth in this last grow and experienced absolutely no problems.

I'm pretty sure that KIS pays attention to where they source their products. I know that is a huge concern with Jeremy of BAS. I recognize his attention to detail about the sources of materials that they use. It's the way I was in the early 90s when I started organic growing at my farm. Back then there were very few ready-made products that you could utilize. And really what was available, you could actually duplicate on your own.

I was anal as hell back then on the sourcing and I'm even more so today. The little plant that we all love is a concentrator. Heavy metals are my biggest thing. The Rock dust minerals are the biggest sources, but there are quite a few others also. Sustainability and an ethical sourcing are also concerns.

Hopefully you're spraying with kelp will help remedy the situation.

Well, one more milestone with Operation Asian Haze Seed Making!

Definitely have some male parts developing kinda mainly on one Plant so far.

Warning: thread hijack approaching...

@WildBill -- what's your plan with the Asian Haze seeds?
Is it from that tall lady from LBH you grew a year or two back?

It's from the same group of seeds I got with that tall girl outdoors a few years ago. I think this one exhibited pretty much the same structure as she did, but I trained this time.

The project was for preservance of a man's work and to share with those that would want to play with her a bit.

:jointman:Tad my man, no worries... not like you're busy or anything - :help::rofl:
There's some good scientific literature out there about it. Seems the gist is that the type and amount of hormones present will vary as the 'nut matures, which makes perfect sense of course...
The general consensus is that auxin levels elevate as it does so....
My only working theory is that whatever the source and it's bona fides are, they'll use whatever they need to, to make quota. None claim to be made from (just) what's called "tender" coconuts, I guess a term for them at that earlier stage...
Sooo, who knows what'll show up batch to batch!

All are looking superb! Healthy and thriving.
peace friend.
:pass:
:pighug: Hey it's our OG mate UHF! .... thanks and Cheers :smokeout: .... In fact I'm off to go get pics right now!

Hey Waira,

Over in the outdoor thread you mentioned foliar kelp/fulvic useage. Do you have a strength recommendation or ph adjust it at all?

1/16 tsp kelp, 1/4 tsp fulvic, 1/32 tsp yucca and yes ph adjust to 5.8 least I do for coco:shrug:
