Both are excellent from what I've seen, but I've only tried KIS so far... Go with what you know, plus dialing in takes some tinkering over several grows... There are BAS experienced folks here too!If someone was going to start an organic soil grow, would you point them towards BaS or KIS? I can get a bag of Roots Organic Original or Lush at the local dirt store. I was thinking of that with the KIS nutrient pack. 25 gallon fabric pot/bag.
Since you're working with good bag soil, the KIS dosing needs reducing vs. what from-scratch will call for...
I use about 1pt/15gal for photo's, cut that by about 25% or so for auto's... that is the more tricky part, and no one "recipe" will work for all because of their highly variable appetites, tolerances, etc... Every run, some are happier than others with the richness levels.
Keep in mind I'm going for near-water only inputs, at least for primary nutes... light PK boosting if needed... always Si, kelp, humic fulvic, inoculants(!), micronute and Ca supp's (I use amino based stuff from BioAg) as infrequent boosts...

... this was a dice roll cultivar for behavior, as Maverick is something of an oddball semi-auto itself. Selections for non-auto'ing pheno's were made making it, so speed and easy triggering were the goal apparently. Crossed with an auto, but with GhostTrainHaze in the mix, she was a probable "auto" at my Lat and conditions, but not certain according to the breeder... he was right! Good object lesson in her about such auto/photo crosses...
