New Grower trim leaves during budding

would this be a good test: trim 1/2 of the plant and leave the other 1/2 alone?... I might try it on my current grow

No it wouldnt as the whole of the plant will be affected by what you do to it regardless of where you do it.
In order to have a comparison it would have to be two plants, one fully trimmed and one not trimmed at all

am I the only one that trims the leaves around here?

dude, you can gain budsites by feeding properly

no need to trim whatsoever

some day you will learn

you do fine with your method , but honestly , i cringe when i see your pics/reports , i think to myself "man o man what could have been"

i trimmed for around 20 years because back then we thought that was best (we hadnt been educated any better) and because back then we only had comercial tube flourescents so thought we needed to get better penetration

read my long post and you will see we were wrong

I have to say this thread intrigues me alot, Bob, using the info that you provided, can scrog be explained? i know that there is alot of misinformation that floats around in the canna world, due to its underground nature, but i love getting science like you dripped on us!!!!

in a scrog your removing everything bellow the canopy , not just leaves

differnt method/procedure all together

peace

was a part of this debate elsewhere so i already have 2 (actually 20) sister clone plants that are flowering side by side , same soil , water , feed , light , and air , i trimmed one right as i went 12/12 , if i can find my cam or borrow one i will take pics of the results , but i will tell you this right now , the trimmed plant looks like shit and didnt do shit , i am completely out what could have been with that plant , the strain is kush

will be harvesting approx 2 weeks from now and will do my best to get pics , ill even bookmark this thread so i can easilly find it to post the pics

and i will say again , the trimmed plant didnt do shit

peace

I'm with you I cringe everytime I try to get my hand around these fat buds... but this's what I'm workin with ...what would the difference be had I not trimmed? I've never not trimmed... kinda new to this stuff and I started trimming with my first plant haven't had time to read all the posts on how to grow some even bigger buds but I'll look into yours
*the buds pictured are 17" long - apx 5-6 of them, then the 12" buds from there and so on

what if you have so many leaves there is nowhere left to 'tuck' your leaves......unless you tuck leaf under leaf, under leaf (and then they die off from lack of light)...I think everyone that is against trimming has never really done it.. if not maybe we can see some comparison shots trimmed vs not trimmed?...but to me it's an old subject that you'll have to figure out for yourself no sence argueing about it

I remember last year I trimmed a bunch of leaves shortly after it started budding and kept up the trimming a every couple weeks (mostly yellow leaves by then) and my bud did not grow any bigger than it was the entire time! Huge disappointment I think I got like 2 and a half ounces dry off of 5 six footers but it was bag weed. Just my experience with trimming:2cents:

even then youd need two identical plants with identical setups to compare, not really something you can get from autos, cloning for photos but id say youd need huge numbers of autos to test anything because of that. even then nothing conclusive.

I'm with you I cringe every time I look at these ..what would the diff be had I not trimmed? kinda new to this stuff so I haven't had time to read the journals but I'll look at yours to find out how to grow the really big buds

* bud info: apx 5-6 ..17" long -
apx 10 ....12" long
and then there's the rest
