New Grower too much info availible

my nerves are shot.i have some expensive seed on the way,first time trying to grow 10.00 or so per seed.i am so worried because i have read alot about growing however alot of the info conflicts with each other.with bag seed i just throw a few in a couple pots of soil ,water and they grow usually.if not i just plant more seed,however the ones i bought are singles all fem--so i get 1 chance to get it right.

dont stress it mate throw it in some damp towel, then pot it up once its got a good 1/4 inch root going, keep it dark and warm when its in the towel and u cant go wrong.

Ive never ever germed in a towel.
Just straight into the pot, has always worked for me 100%, and I get the plants up 2-3 days from sowing. No need for tools either, I just push the seed into the medium with my finger down half an inch or so and then put some soil/coco over the seed and tap it gently.
Keep it simple, I don't see why ppl over-complicate things.
