Help getting started

Fantastic - ordered! Also the Biobizz Lite soil is on the way too. Wish I'd found this forum 6 months ago! I'm also looking at the root riots and trying to discover what a 'solo cup' is . . .

I'm still finding my way about this forum but can't seem to figure out how to look at what you call 'my thread' ?

Welcome to AFN! I’m pretty sure the thread in question is the green link at the bottom of his posts. For my contribution to this post I’ll veer toward genetics and recommend Mephisto if you haven’t heard of them yet. Not only are they FANTASTIC beans, but you get extra beans plus freebie crosses. The owner is a member here and his flowers are all over this site. Good luck and I really look forward to watching your journey. Here’s the mephisto link

Hi Entomed - yes I think I've got all the gear I need. Thankfully, most of the people who visit us are very supportive of cannabis for medical use, so I'm not too concerned about an occasional whiff being smelt. But in any case I have a pretty big carbon filter on the ventilator outflow.

I grow 4 plants(autos) in a 3x3 it's about right depending on the strain and how well the grow is going sometimes it gets tight but fills the tent out. Yields varies but you should be able to get 2-3 oz easily with most strains

Thanks for the welcome @PeaceLove&Buds - I got all the seeds I need for now but will definitely check out Mephisto next batch.
i make vegetable glycerine tincture for me and my wife and that's all I consume nowadays also someone mentioned drying in brown paper bags I grow absolutely everything in them

My tincture is MCT oil based. It is a lot easier on the mouth than an alcohol tincture. :pighug:

Welcome to the best autoflower/cannabis forum around @awediohead Looks like you got a nice setup to start and lots of help. You should definitely create a journal of your first grow and post your progress. Not only do we like to follow along, but it’s a great way to get pointers. It helped me immensely on my first couple grows. Still does :smokeit:

Props on taking care of your lady too. Nice to read about decent people in this crazy world. Good luck on your grow buddy. Tag me if you do make a journal. 📓 👍

Hey Johnny thanks for the welcome and the advice.

Here's what the CANNA website says about this soil. CANNA is a weird company in that they're incredibly obviously (from the name of the company onwards) focusing on providing soil and ferts for people growing cannabis, but because they want to sell to the UK where it's not legal, they talk about every bloody plant under the sun being grown except cannabis, which is annoying.

Obviously, what's below is marketing hype, but maybe helpful for those not familiar with this particular brand and type of soil. Having just found it, I realise I was wrong about thinking it contains perlite - it has some sort of bark instead.

I'm struggling to find something that describes itself as for seeds that doesn't also mention being extremely nutrient rich, with - I assume - the risk of nutrient burn - perhaps because they're talking about growing veggies not cannabis and definitely not autos which have evolved with poorer soils.
Also, when I talked about 'transplanting' I meant moving the germinated seed from tissue paper into the pot.
Thanks again
A couple seed starter mixes are Fox Farm Happy Frog and BioBizz litemix. They are weaker than full strength aoils . Full strength soils will most likely burn any seedling to death auto or photo.
