Ok, time to jump on the Big SmO's DIY train. I have a Mars II 700 that I'm done replacing led's and diodes on so I think it's time for an upgrade. I've been through the whole thread and haven't seen anybody with the same drivers as mine so any recommendations would be great. All the drivers are the same except that 2 of them are running the fans. The window of the case is 12x12 and will be going in a 3x3 tent.

This is actually a real nice one to convert. Little higher amperage on the drivers. Basically looking at it from its size more than its drivers, 4 cobs would probably be the max I’d run in there. You could go with more cobs but it would get very tight.

4-36v 1212’s would give you 26 watts per cob
4-50v 1812’s would give you 37 watts per cob.

I’d run 4 cobs in total, one per driver and go with the most efficient 1812’s which will also give you a higher wattage.

Something that had a few folks messed up with the cob prices at cobshop was that my 1812’s came with a 2.50 dollar holder and came with free shipping. I did adjust this and now sell the cobs bare. Now a version 6 -1812 is nearly the same price as others version 6 - 1212. A simple decision now. I also see version 5 cobs floating around. Citizen made some very nice advancements in cob tech with the release of the version 6’s if 3-4 dollars a cob increase is to much then go for the version 5 but if you can swing it the version 6 is well worth the additional cost.

Man that was quick lol , 4 1812's it is then, next stop Cob Shop. Thanks SmO, Merry Christmas
