Lighting The new DIY Section

I need to add a 1.5'×3.5' or 1'x4' area of flower light to my 4x4 tent. I have zero components. I am handy with tools etc. How cheaply can I build a high quality light?
I like the Rigid 2 light design. Or the HLG quantum design. Really dont care just as long as it is great for veg/flower but especially has to be a good flower light.

Do you have any older leds you could repurpose? That would probably be the cheapest option. I have always found the more intense cob light wins over the quantum style lights. Regardless of the hype. As far as a specific light for the space goes it has got a little harder to recommend based on people’s wattage opinions. Many are finding less is more while some still like to pump the space with as much wattage as possible.

I have nothing other than my main light.
Seems like I ought to be able to do something for 75 bucks or less. I see these Samsung strips. Dunno. I am usually a researcher but time constraints are preventing me from getting it done.

Another thought is a light like this to supplement veg area. Cant hurt to have the extra light overlapping for flower as well.

That has been my observation as well. I cheated on you and I got a spider farmer 1000 (Black Friday deal). It's 100watts of Samsung diodes. Your 65watt autocob outperformed the Samsung LM301 diodes@100w in my first grow and it absolutely blows away the 100w Mars Cree cob over many grows I've done with it. However the LM301's seem to outperform the CXB3590 Cob in the mars light in my setup.

Have you looked at the MIGROW chan on youtube ? He does a really good job of reviewing all the different options at different price points. I"ve been trying to drop hints here and there @BigSm0 to send one of his lights to him to test.

Yes. I know what I would like. Just cant afford a Rapid, Chilled, HLG, etc.
