Started very light lower defoliation. Way too early for this so they should look a bit ratty in the next pic.

But then again these little buggers have taken everything I have thrown at them incorrectly and they just keep chugging along.

This strain must be very hearty and forgiving, I would recommend these for someone's first grow.

Would you mind a little detail about the lower definition? Im on my second grow, didn't on the first because I had no idea what to do.

With mild lower defoliation you remove a few fan leaves and open up bud sites.

With extreme defoliation you hack up a plant pretty good but if done right (and with lots of practice) you can dramatically increase your yield

Below is a link that explains the more drastic end of this art. It has some great pics farther down showing what a freshly chopped up weed looks like and also pics of the end result.

It's really easy to screw up your plants if you don't have the other basics down first, so if you are thinking about trying a mild form of this I would first suggest trying to tuck your fan leaves.

If you get one or two that refuse to tuck then snip them. Just don't go overboard as you learn this method of increasing yield until you get to the point that you can afford to kill a few in the learning process.

So by now you read that link and understand the concept of the extreme end, so I will show you the minor end.

I wasn't going to post this but what the heck.... It may answer your question a bit better and will show you exactly what I did.

Look at the amount of "new to the light" growth that was exposed.

This was the most radical that I went of the 4. I removed all but the top 2 full fans. Its a bit early to be doing this... :smoking:

Be sure to learn where and how much to clip.
