Indoor Teetee's 2021 Monster Hunt

So, I'm still struggling with these cluster(fuck) headaches, the Doc's put me on this injection called Emgality.... supposed to be a major game changer for migranes.
It has reduced the severity but not the frequency, and the major side effect I'm getting is depression. Now, I'm normally a very happy go lucky kind of guy but this has knocked me for six. I cried at the end of the last episode of 'The Big Bang Theory' for fuck sake!

It was Father's day here in Oz a couple of weeks back and I fell into this hole where I had convinced myself that I was a shit Dad, so I went into the grow shed and switched it all off.

For 3 days.

Then I came to my senses (plus the jars are getting empty), and switched it all back on again.

The plants looked terrible, but I have been plodding along trying to get them back on track.
Here they are on day 45, 7 days after switching it all off.....

clockwise from top left: Chronic Ryder, Night Queen, Blackberry Kush and Jack Herer.

Not looking too bad, a few yellow leaves and a bit of Cal Mag deficiency in the CR, NQ and BBK. The JH looks lovely and green, but is very short, and has no flowers... so this is a photo period plant.... DAMN!!!

Here's a close up of the Jack Herer....
View attachment 1366828

She's very bushy, under those fans are loads of side shoots not getting any light, so I gave her a good trim down below....
View attachment 1366829

Now, from above you can see the difference....
View attachment 1366830

I'm still deciding what to do with her....
  • chuck her out (and save on nutes)
  • put up my old tent and give her 12/12 lighting
  • shove her in the greenhouse and let the sunshine do its job
The last two options are a problem.... we rent, so there will be a house inspection in 6-8 weeks time... not enough to get her to finish in time. Plus the neighbours will smell the buds if I grow her in the greenhouse.

So there's one last option.... keep her vegging in the same tent as the Autos, and pack her away for the inspection, then get her on 12/12 to finish once the inspection's done and dusted.... I might even germinate some other photos I have in stock so they can all grow together. Summer's coming and it would be great to have plants on 12/12 to keep the grow temps down during the day (with lights off). I could even try taking some cuttings off the JH and do 4 of the same.

What do you think???

Anyway back to the Autos.
Here's the BBK on day 45....
View attachment 1366823

As you can see, lots of leaf issues, so I trimmed the rotten ones off, and now she looks like this...
View attachment 1366825

Her main cola is shaping up nicely....
View attachment 1366824

Nice bit of purple going on there!

I did the same with the CR and NQ, trimmed off the dodgy leaves and a bit of a tidy up.
The NQ has stretched nicely...
View attachment 1366831

She's very tall and all her side branches are also quite long, so I will be staking her out in the next day or two.

CR is also doing reasonably well....
View attachment 1366826

....and again I will be staking her out a bit.

It would be nice to get rid of the JH just so I can make the other 3 spread out into the extra space, but I just can't mentally get round throwing out a perfectly healthy ganja plant!

Today it's day 48, so I will be getting them on the PK 13-14 over the weekend..... hopefully the NQ is gonna be a big yielder!

That's it for this update, more soon!
Last option sounds the best to me.

As for the headaches, you should ask your dr about Lamictal aka lamotrigine. I was put on it as a mood stabilizer (as I've got the depressive type of bipolar disorder) but it has also mostly eliminated my migraines as well.

Hope you can find something that helps you, I know how miserable it can be.

Hey brother.. sorry to hear your still havin a hard time.. I convince myself sometimes I'm a shit dad.. honestly.. i can relate to that.. then I remember my 'kids' are 20, 19 and 17.. and all still live at home.. I spend all I earn every month on what they need and want.. still.. at their age lol cuz I can't help myself.. I do their shopping and cooking.. the missiz (mother of the 20 year old girl but not my 2 boys) does their washing and cleaning.. they live like fucking Kings.. and a queen.. im a free taxi service 24/7 as well as offering all the advice encouragement and emotional support that I can full time as and when required.. I feel their pain and I absolutely revel in their successes.. so when I think about all that.. Im the best dad that I can be.. I don't know what your situation is brother but i hope u can look at the good things u do as a dad.. which I'm sure are many and go largely if not totally unnoticed and most often without even a thanks.. and from there maybe you can feel a bit better about the role lol there's no instructions and its the fucking hardest job in the world my friend.. the salary and terms totally blow hahaha

Glad you got the lights back on and got back in there swingin :jointman: you'll pull those autos round easy and as for the photo.. I like your idea of running some more along side it

Stay safe partner :pighug::vibes:

Day 48 - The stakeout
Thanks for the pep talk @Suki813 and @hope2grow. I pulled my finger out this morning and took the kids to the beach, then came back later to stake out the plants.

From the front, you can see the Night Queen dominating the view with the (photo) Jack Herer beside. You can see how I've brought the NQ branches over to use some of the space taken up by the JH, and angled the lights from the JH over to the NQ.
The Chronic Ryder is behind the JH, with the Blackberry Kush hidden behind the NQ....

Right back on track buddy.. does NQ always get huge for you or am I imagining that.. tell me this.. what are your stakes made of? If its wood are they painted?? I've always been wary of sticking sticks/canes in as all I can find locally are green painted ones and I feel like the paint will contaminate my soil??

Oh no, growfriend, I am really sad to hear how you've been feeling. Those thoughts are very difficult to fight. I know once they take hold, even if you know they are wrong, it's hard not to let them take over you. Especially medication induced depression. Oof. That's just a heck of a chemical imbalance. No way to really fight that. At least you know that's "not you" and is the new medication. Finding the right one can take time and if the side effects are worse than the symptoms work with your doctor to find something else. I had it with an allergy medication some years back. Did not realize it until I was pretty far down. Good on you for noticing the problem!

You've had a rough spot lately with all that went into your move and your health stacked on top. And then the last year was terrible for pretty much everyone on the planet. I'm not surprised anyone feels like they're shit, this sucks, I deserve bad things. Men's health and especially mental health issues are usually brushed aside with a "man up" or some other light dismissal. Take this seriously. Don't let it build and build for years.

Realize it's not the only way. Get up. Get better. Baby steps. It won't happen overnight. Clearly you've already made a massive leap forward, you put the lights back on! Great! Do the things you love with people you like to be around. I think you're a great grower and I look forward to your updates! So get those plants back in shape and show me that pro grow I've seen before. Yeah?

Yup! Quite the road back to what 'they' consider 'normal'. It begins with one step forward. Not easy. but can be done.

Most NQ's I've done in the past have been just average sized, but this last pack I've had must have more of the elusive 2nd BIG pheno!

Mine are hollow metal stakes with green PVC over them. The little ribs along the sides are good to grip the ties, and they have a point on one end for easy penetration with minimal damage :eyebrows:
1632018970826.png
I only put stakes in at the very edge of the pot so I don't damage any main root stems.... I tell myself I'm just pruning the root tips... which can only be a good thing!
Getting stakes in around the early stretch time (week 5-6) means any damage is not gonna stress the plant out as much compared to if you do it too early on (ie before 28 days), and it has time to recover before bloom sets in.

Really thank you for that my friend.:pass:

I've been feeling a lot better this week, but I'm gonna stop the Emgality anyway. Altghough the attacks were less frequent, they were more severe, and the side effects aren't worth it, plus I can't have a COVID vaccine while on it as it's a sort of slow releasing vaccine in itself.
They are urging Migrane sufferers to get vaccinated (but to avoid Astra Zenica), because we are more at risk of complications and have a higher risk of 'Long COVID'.
Luckily I've only been on it for 2 months, so hopefully it hasn't left a huge imprint on me.
Oh, and to add to the stress levels, I think I'm gonna have to change job and relocate again in the next couple of months

Day 58 - PK done.
It's been 10 days since the last update, it's now day 58.

I gave them all a PK13/14 based feed from days 51 to 57 and now they are back on regular A&B based feeds for the rest of the grow...
...or at least until I get some AN Bud Candy! Its back after a year long COVID related import issue, so I'll be getting some ASAP!!!

I got rid of the JH, she was just taking up space and I'd given up feeding her. I don't have the time to deal with a photo right now.

Here they were earlier today as you opened the tent before I made a few changes....
large.615023beaf9cc_group1.JPG

The Night Queen dominates at the front, but to the right at the back you'll just see the Chronic Ryder, and to the left the Blackberry Kush.

I may as well carry on with the immense NQ. From the surface of the Coco, she's 115cm tall, add the 25L airpot, so the lights are up at their maximum height.
I had already staked her out, but now the JH is gone, and the stretch is done, PK is done etc I could tidy her up and spread her out even more and let her get on with a big bloom.

Here she is from above, with the BBK top right and the CR top left....
large_NQ.JPG

... from the front you can see she takes up the entire width!
large.615023c0dfbe3_group2.JPG

She's got a long way to go.

The Blackberry Kush on the other hand, is nearly done....
large.615023aae72d2_BBK1.JPG

She stands 67cm tall, her buds are purple and filling out nicely.
Here's a closer look...
large.615023ad40cc7_BBK2.JPG

The main cola is very odd, it has 3 side buds and a central bud. It seems like the 3 outer buds are growing faster than the centre one, so I'll have to be careful about mould there later on.
large.615023b0411c6_BBK3.JPG

I didn't re-stake her and I'm not too worried about the leaf appearance, that's all external fan damage from when I had a bit of a crisis earlier in the grow.
She's supposed to be a 70 day finisher, and I expect her to perhaps go a few days over that, so it won't be long now!!

Finally the Chronic Ryder...
large.615023b81da2d_CR1.JPG

A thick jungle of a plant, so I took the opportunity to chop out any straggly stems and open her out a bit as well.
As she's taller than the BBK, at 76cm, I switched them over as I can get the lights higher up on the left, if needed...
large.615023bce25e9_CR3.JPG

As you can see from her main cola, she'll go a few weeks longer than the 65 days she's advertised at...
large.615023b99ec93_CR2.JPG

From the left side door you can see how the CR is placed, with the BBK behind, both taking up the back half of the tent. The NQ is there on the right doing her thing...
large.615023c28c2db_group3.JPG

Thanks for looking in, have a good 'un!

Back on track bro.. great.. that BBK nearly done already and so chunky.. tell me more about your PK boost feeds.. is that your standard form heavy pk for about a week then stop and just bloom base nutes after?? Also can I ask if you drop your EC towards the end m8?? I see ppl saying they drop EC maybe last 2 weeks of plants life??

Great result for the Hammers.. reds.. mmmmmm.. wtf.. there be a few teams leaving Brentford with red faces this season methinks.. and the boxing.. are u a fan?? Joshua schooled.. not like anything else was gonna happen.. couldn't box eggs.. big puddin.. embarrassing defeat.
