Hey, good to be back after a few months off.
It's the height of Summer here in this tropical part of the world..... ultra humid and temps way up in the 30°Cs during the day and no lower than 20° at night. It's gonna get mental hot in Feb and by mid March it starts to ease off.... not the best conditions for a grow!!
Problem is that our stock of bud will be finished by April, so I thought I should pull my finger out and get another grow on.
Given the excessive heat, I decided to grow some more photoperiod plants so I can have lights off during the day and try and keep those temps down a bit..... Teetee's back to the Dark Side.
My seed collection is dwindling a bit, I have some lovely classic Dutch Passion Autos like Lemon Kix, Banana Blaze, Blackberry Kush, Night Queen and some of their newer ones like Mokums Tulip, Mimosa Punch and Trichomes and Cream..... but I don't want to waste them by growing them in this current blistering climate.
I don't have many photoperiod seeds at all, just a few 4 year old Dinafem Gorilla and Purple Afghan Kush, some Dutch Passion Des Fran, and some freebies from Seedsman that I bought 8 years ago..... Jack Herer, Big Banger and OG Kush.
I grew some Gorilla and Purple Afghan Kush back in Dec 2018, and was very happy with the final product, the Des Fran was a tricky grow that went on forever, but my word, it's top drawer stuff.... it's also called 'Destroyer', and for good reason.
I wand a simple quick grow, so I selected one of each of the following.... Gorilla, Purple Afghan Kush and Jack Herer.
Last Sunday, I planted directly onto Coco soaked in pH 5.8 EC 0.7 nutes, covered in clingfilm and left in a dark warm spot.... in the tent was perfect. Yesterday (72 hours later) I checked on them and they had all sprouted, but as there was no light they were very pale.
Lights on 18 hours and off for 6, and today they look like this....
Judging by their size, the PAK came first, then Gorilla followed by the Jack Herer, remarkable seeing as I've had that seed since Sept 2014!!!
I plan to veg them for 28 days, flip to 12/12 and they should take 60 days in bloom. I'll repot them into 25L airpots around the 14 day mark.
I have no idea what I'm doing, so feel free to contribute and enjoy the ride!
