Indoor Teetee does some Sawney Beans and some Dutch Passion classics

Grow 2 Getting started
  • Hey!
Just had an inspection, and the temps are rising. Summer's on the way, and I expect it will just get more and more infernal until Feb / March.
It's very difficult growing in the height of Summer, so I reckon I can just about squeeze another grow in before the end of the year and then take a break from Jan to March.

So with that in mind, I've just planted some magic Sawney beans....

    • Nugz G2 (Blue Nuggets x Strawberry)
    • Skywalker OG (F1 breeding stock)
    • Small Lecter (Pink Livers x Tri Kush)

Only three this time, as I want a bit of space in the tent... need some room for the hot air to circulate, plus if I go full Teetee on the Nugz and/or the Skywalker, there's some room for them to do their thing!
Small Lecter will be er... small, I guess. I've got some regular Lecter as well, but I'm not expecting this to be an easy grow what with the impending heat, so I'll save those beauties for the cooler months.

As always, I plant directly into Solo cups, with Coco soaked in EC 0.7 nutes. Covered with clingfilm and left in a dark spot. I expect to see them pop through in 3-4 days.
    See you then!

    Day 2 - 3 plus 1
  • So here we go then...

Planted 3 seeds on the 7th, and 4 days later (yesterday morning) I was greeted by Skywalker OG and then the Small Lecter.
By mid afternoon, there was no sign of the Nugs G2 so I had a careful dig and found her floundering around with her helmet on. I eased it off and lifted her up above Coco level.... SHE LIVES!!!

Here they are today, day 2..... .
    Group.JPG

They all look good and are already taking off!
All lecter are fast as funk.
The nugz are small indica type plants I haven't seen them get any bigger than 2 foot.
I'm still gonna repot them into 20L airpots. I usually do this around day 12, but they may have to go in sooner if they're that speedy. The Coco's been ordered!

always time to squeeze one more wee grow in isn't there lol
Cheers Hope, and having been told by @Sawney_bean that the Small Lecter and Nugz will be on the shorter side, your wise words were ringing in my head and I thought "there's always time to squeeze one more in...."

... so I decided to plant another one.... Reeker (which is a cross of Chocolate Skunk and Dr Greenthumb Haze). With a name like that, I'm guessing she'll STINK, and I've never had a chocolate flavoured strain before. What will I expect from this then Sawney?
With any luck, she'll pop up in a few days time and be just a couple of days behind the others for the rest of the grow.

I'll let you know how she gets on.... see you then!

    Day 12 to 18 - repotting
  • G'day and cheers for stopping by! I'm a bit knackered cos I was up last night watching West Ham beat Man Utd! FUCKING YES!

A lot's happened since last time, so here they were about a week ago, day 12....
    Day 12 Group 1.JPG

Skywalker OG at the back, Nugz on the left, Reeker (day 8) to the right, and Small Lecter in front.

I usually repot at day 12, but I only did the Small Lecter and Skywalker OG....
    Day 12 Lect.JPG

    Day 12 Sky.JPG

The Nugz looked pretty bad having been damaged when I dug her out while germinating....
    Day 12 Nugz.JPG

.....so I left her in the Solo cup a bit longer.

On day 15, she looked a bit better...
    Day 15 Nugz.JPG

... so I repotted her that day.

Here she is today, day 18....
    Day 18 Nugz.JPG

    .... looking much better now.

I decided to repot the Reeker the same day as the Nugz - day 11 as she's 4 days behind the rest...
    Day 11 Reek.JPG

Here's Reeker today on day 14 - looking great!
    Day 14 Reek.JPG

Smnall Lecter settled in very well after repotting. Here she is on day 15....
    Day 15 Lect.JPG

And today day 18... not looking too shabby - might be a big Lecter?
    Day 18 Lect.JPG

I'll have to get on with some leaf tucking.

The Skywalker looked a bit pale around the edges on day 15...
    Day 15 Sky.JPG

... so I upped her feed a touch. Today on day 18, she seems to have settled down and new growth looks good...
    Day 18 Sky.JPG

So there we have it. They all seem to be in good shape, and starting to take off.
Nugz is back on track, but she'll be small anyway.
I have high hopes for the other 3, Skywalker OG, Small (or large) Lecter and the Reeker.
As long as the temps behave, we might have a couple of monsters.... won't be easy though - it hit 33°C last week!

See you next time, and bring your thongs!

Day 27 to 31 - the crucial 4 week mark
  • Man it's fucking hot... mid 30's in the day and mid 20's at night. Perfect growing weather..... somewhere else far far away from here.

This current grow is doing well so far, but I'm not sure how things are gonna be for the next couple of months as the temps ramp up even more.
Here they are today on day 31...
    Day 031 Group.JPG

clockwise from top left... Nugz, Small Lecter, Skywalker OG, and Reeker. All looking good!

Reeker is 4 days younger than the others, so she's really day 27 in that pic.
Here she was back on day 23...
    Day 23 Reek.JPG

    and today, day 27...
    Day 027 Reek.JPG

She's doing pretty well, but I don't think she'll be a huge plant in the long run.

The Nugz had a bit of a rough start, so she's reasonably small too. Nugz and Reeker share a 800W Skyline LED.
    Here's Nugz on day 27...
    Day 27 Nugz.JPG

    ....and again on day 31...
    Day 031 Nugz.JPG

Plenty of growth in those 4 days, and she's developing a nice structure.

Small Lecter is really going for it, and is already starting to stretch and flower.
    Here's day 27...
    Day 27 Lect.JPG

    ...and day 31...
    Day 031 Lect.JPG

I initially thought that this Small Lecter might be a big Lecter, but I'm beginning to think she's gonna be a fast finisher, and therefore smaller as a result.
She's got nice long stems, but there's not the bushing out of the deeper parts that I see in the Skywalker.

Talking of which, here's Skywalker on day 27...
    Day 27 Sky.JPG

You see what I mean about bushy???

I'm having to do a fair bit of leaf tucking to expose all the extra stems coming up from the deep.
Here's Skywalker today on day 31...
    Day 031 Sky.JPG

Lots going on, and looking very healthy. I think she'll want a stronger feed soon, which is gonna be a pain in the arse.
As it is, I give the Nugz and Reeker the same EC 0.7 mix as I have given right from the start, while the Skywalker and Small Lecter are on an EC 0.8 mix. They all look very happy on their feeds, but if I up the Skywalker, that will mean 3 different mixes, and I'll have to buy an extra fucking bucket as well.

Anyway, that's brought things up to date. Next time, they should all be starting to flower.

P.S. I'm really enjoying the fruits of my last harvest, the Night Queen is such a lovely old friend, just as tasty and heavy as always, but the Boomstick is just so delicious and candy sweet, while the Condemned is super fruity/hashy.... all 3 are just perfect as far as I'm concerned.
My vape is a lot messier with this lot, but I'm loving a nice joint of one of them every night to chill out.
Toking on an unlit doob of Night Queen or Boomstick is like breathing in magic dust!

Day 40 - varying stages of flowering
  • How's it going?
Been a bit slack this week or two. There's been a couple of times where I've come to water them of an evening to find I left 3 out of the four lights off since the last day's feed..... grrrr.
The Reeker has been the lucky one with the light over it being on the whole time, but the others will have suffered minor inconveniences.... if it was nature, then I'd say there's been a couple of days of patchy cloud.

It's day 40 for most of them, but the Reeker is 4 days younger, so here she is, day 36...
    Day 36 Reek.JPG

She's nice and vibrant, plenty of tops showing and in the early stages of flowering. I'm just starting to see some pistils.

Skywalker is also in very early flower. I was a bit worried she might be a photoperiod earlier in the week, but thankfully, I'm just starting to see some pistils in those tops. I've given her a bit of a clear out underneath and removed any straggly thin stems. Here she is on day 40...
    Day 40 Sky .JPG

She's not 100% happy and is on a slightly stronger feed than the others. She is a bigger, more bushy plant than the others, and I'm deciding if I should up her feed a touch more.

Nugz is a bit more developed than the first two.... late early flowering I would say!
    Day 40 Nugz.JPG

I've also given her a bit of a tidy up downstairs. She's looking great.

Even better is the Small Lecter. She's well into flowering, with buds I'd normally see on plants a week older than she is. Here on day 40...
    Day 40 Lect 1.JPG

She's a good compact size, and hopefully will look beautiful when she's done!
Here's a close up of the flowers...
    Day 40 Lect 2.JPG

I suppose the Small Lecter is gonna be a fast finisher, the Nugz will be standard time, and the Skywalker will take a week or two longer (and hopefully will pick up and get a bit bigger than the others). Reeker will probably finish the same time as Skywalker.... all around Xmas and New Year!

Take it easy, and thanks for taking a look!

Day 59 - Well into flowering
  • Hi, it's been a while, but it's all going pretty well despite the infernal temps, up in the mid 30°C's, and pant drenchingly high humidity between 85 and 95%.... Summer in the Tropics!
Here they are as a group on day 59....
    Day 59 Group.JPG

The big one in the back left is the Reeker, with Small Lecter back right. Nugz is front right with Skywalker in the front left.

The Reeker is actually 4 days younger than the others on day 55, and is HUGE.
Because she's so big, and also cos of the heat, she's a very thirsty girl. I missed one feed on day 53 and here's what she looked like on day 54...
    Day 54 Reek.JPG

...all her leaves hanging down limp AF. As you can see in todays's pic, she picked herself up again pretty quickly....
    Day 55 Reek.JPG

I just started her on the PK13/14 today, and she'll be on that for a week. She's loading up with bud, and has got some nice long colas forming, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. She looks like she'll be done in early Jan.

The Nugz is on her last day of PK 13/14...
    Day 59 Nugz 1.JPG

She's squat but full of (ahem) ..... Nugs.
Here's a view from the front to show what's happening under those leaves....
    Day 59 Nugz 2.JPG

Here's a closer shot of the main cola...
    Day 59 Nugz 3.JPG

... and from above to show her girth....
    Day 59 Nugz 4.JPG

I remember @Sawney_bean saying he thought this Nugz G2 is bigger than the average.... what do you reckon now mate... on track still?
Do you think I should take a load of leaves of like @hope2grow does?

Skywalker has also been on the PK for a week, finishing today. She's picked up after a bit of a stroppy few weeks and has responded well to the PK boost.
    Day 59 Sky.JPG

I think the Nugz and the Skywalker will be done in 3 weeks, somewhere around the 29th Dec.

Finally Small Lecter. She finished her week of PK13/14 a week ago, so is nearly done now...
    Day 59 Lect 1.JPG

Those buds are very heavy and bow out to the max like the one on the left. The ones on the right had to be rescued and held with stakes as they fell right over......
    Day 59 Lect 2.JPG

From above, you can see there's a good amount of solid bud....
    Day 59 Lect 3.JPG

I still reckon there's a couple of weeks left in her. These close ups show the trichomes looking mainly milky with maybe a couple of random ambers....
    Day 59 Lect 4.JPG

To be honest, given the temps and humidity, I'm amazed there's any trichomes at all!
    Day 59 Lect 5.JPG

My thoughts turn to mould... it's a dead cert given the conditions, so the moment I see anything, I'll be chopping.

Thanks for taking a look, I've gotta skin up and watch the football..... hope Arsenal drop a couple of points!

    Day 77 - nearly done
  • Merry Christmas!
Just another day here, high 30°C's as usual, not a cloud in the sky.

I cropped the Small Lecter about 2 weeks ago on day 64 after I spotted some mould in her fat colas.
I'll do a separate post for her after this one.

Nugz and Skywalker are close to finishing now, so rather than watch all that lot go mouldy too, I stopped the feeds and removed all the fan leaves.
After 3 days of no feed, the Nugz looks like this...
    Day 77 Nugz 1.JPG

    All bud, no fluff.
Here's a view from the top...
    Day 77 Nugz 2.JPG

Somewhere in early flower, I think the uppermost tops only on the main stem got a bit of light burn or heat stroke or something, because the bud literally stopped developing. There was practically no main cola, and the tops were all covered in dark red pistils....
    Day 77 Nugz 3.JPG

The side branches, on the other hand, grew nice fat buds. You can see one of the weird upper buds in the very top left corner...
    Day 77 Nugz 5.JPG

After a couple of days of no feeding, those side branches are really hanging down and just about ready to chop. The whole plant has this kind of sepia look to her which makes me think there's a few amber trichs around.
Here's some close ups of some of the good bud....
    Day 77 Nugz 7.JPG

    Day 77 Nugz 8.JPG

....and a slightly closer look at those trichomes. If you squint, theres some amber amongst the milkies....
    Day 77 Nugz 9.JPG

The Skywalker has a silvery sheen to it, the trichomes are mainly milky, so I'm hoping she'll go more golden as the days flash by.
Here she is today day 77...
    Day 77 Skywalker 1.JPG

I chopped all the fluff away and removed all fan leaves, so she can finish off with less chance of mould getting into her. I stopped feeding her a few days ago, but gave her a bit yesterday to tide her over a bit longer.
    Here's that magnificent main cola...
    Day 77 Skywalker 2.JPG

and the side branches aren't too bad either....
    Day 77 Skywalker 3.JPG

    The buds are very sticky...
    Day 77 Skywalker 4.JPG

    Day 77 Skywalker 5.JPG

... and finally a closer look at those trichs...
    Day 77 Skywalker 6.JPG

There is a few ambers knocking around so she won't be far away either.

Lastly the Reeker... she's a big girl...
    Day 73 Reeker 1.JPG

    Here's another view....
    Day 73 Reeker 2.JPG

NIce long colas and plenty of them too. I have again removed all the fan leaves and fluff, but will continue feeding her for a week or two more because I think she's got another couple of weeks in her yet.

I'm planning on chopping the Nugz tomorrow night, then the Skywalker one or two days later.
The Reeker will then have the tent to herself, so I'll get the yoyos out and spread her out for her last few weeks and maximise the bud.

Anyway, the football's on, so I must run, have a happy New Year filled with bountiful sticky harvests!

Day 64 - Small Lecter crop
  • Hi Again.
As I said in the last post, I took the Small Lecter down on day 64.
I've never cropped a plant so early, but this has been a super quick grow from word go. My first "fast auto".
I knew she was close... the last pic I took of her was on day 59 where her huge buds were bowing out to the sides...
    Day 59 Lect 2.JPG

I carried on feeding her daily, and checking the trichomes every few days.
On day 64 I took a few pics with the macro lens and checked them out on the computer...
    Day 64 Lect 11.JPG

    Looking nice and sticky!
I zoomed in to get a closer look...
    Day 64 Lect 22.JPG

Mainly cloudy with a sprinkling of amber.

    I looked at another cola...
    Day 64 Lect mould 23.JPG

And then I saw it... a pale grey foggy look a couple of inches from the top...
    Day 64 Lect mould 34.JPG

    BASTARD MOULD GRRRRRRRRRR.

So I took her down that night and chopped off anything suspicious.
The remainder... the surviving bud... was hung in boxes to dry.
I checked a week after only to find more bloody mould (GRRRRRR).

It was very wet gear when I chopped her, having last watered her the night before the crop. Hanging long stems thick with bud in cardboard boxes, in humid weather wasn't such a great idea.

I strapped on my loupes and ruthlessly sacrificed more bud and I think I got it all, because this evening... over 2 weeks after cropping, I checked them again, and it was all dried to 55%RH and no more mould in any of it.

    Here's what I lost...
    Lect mould 1.JPG

You can see how i've cut down well into healthy bud.
Luckily the mould was in the top halves of the stems. Unluckily those were the chunkiest buds.
    GRRRRRRRRR.

But this is what I managed to save....
    Lect crop 1.JPG

That's all dried stems, and here's it all clipped and ready to weigh...
    Lect crop 2.JPG

Thats 114g of good solid bud, and another 7g of smaller bud.
    Lect crop 3.JPG

So thats 121g or 4.3 ounces, all jarred with Bovedas, which isn't bad considering that there's probably about 4 ounces in the bin.
Let's hope the others are mould free, they're gonna be much bigger hauls!
I'm gonna have to buy a load of Mason jars cos I've only got one left. Still got so much left from my last grow ha ha!

    Cheers then.

Day 82 - and finally the Reeker
  • Hey @hope2grow I was trying to get this post on before you came over...
Here we go then, just the Reeker left, and on day 79 I took her last proper pics....

    Day 79 Reeker 03.JPG

    She's a big girl.
I took advantage of the extra space and got the yoyos out to let her get max light and airflow.
    Day 79 Reeker 01.JPG

    and from a different angle...
    Day 79 Reeker 02.JPG

She's got a nice length main cola...
    Day 79 Reeker 04.JPG

and her buds are looking and smelling pretty good....
    Day 79 Reeker 08.JPG

    Day 79 Reeker 11.JPG

I took another look on day 82 and decided it was time for the chop. Her trichs were mainly cloudy and a few amber, and I didn't want to lose any to mould. I had taken her leaves off a couple of weeks ago, and stopped watering 2 days before the chop, and I should be OK.
The Skywalker and Nugz are in boxes still, and I haven't had any mould issues with them either.

Gotta pop out now to get some more Mason jars.
I'm still not convinced about those Grove bags, I'm old school and at weed university I was taught never to put bud in plastic bags cos the trichomes stick to the plastic more than with glass. Let me know if you think different!

    Final weigh in
  • OK, sorry it's been a while. I've been smashed out of my tits on my Sawney gear!

So much to choose from now, I've got jars or Boomstick, Condemned (from Sept 2024) and even a little bit of Nightmare (from Dec 2023), now I've also got bags (and I mean Grovebags) full of more.... Reeker, Skywalker, Nugz and Small Lecter. Not to mention some Night Queen and Lemon Kix by Dutch Passion.
I bought the 4 ounce Grovebags as I'm used to having Mason Jars around that size too, and I have to say they are pretty bloody excellent. The flavours and smells are lovely, so I can't wait to see how they go long term.

Here's the final weights, all dry and around 60%RH.
    • Skywalker OG 4.2 ounces (119g)
    • Small Lecter 4.3 ounces (121g)
    • Nugz G2 5.7 ounces (162g)
    • Reeker 9.4 ounces (266g)
Making a grand total of 23.6 ounces (668g)

Not my biggest plants, and nowhere near my usual kilo per grow, but it's all excellent quality, and they are smaller strains.... I usually go for XL plants, so this has been different for me, but I am absolutely stoked with the harvest.
Don't forget the crazy hot and humid weather I've had to put up with... :deadhorse:
I wanna thank the big man Sawney for the opportunity:pighug:and the amazing gift of so many fantastic strains. You're a bloody star, mate!
I have tons more Sawney beans to grow, but I think I'll take a break for a good few months.
It'll be nice not having to stress about growing in suburbia for a while, and I'm looking forward to just kicking back and getting bloodshot.

Thanks to you all for dropping in, may your harvests be massive and sticky AF.
