My own shit, thanks to places like this!
My main question is how do you buy seeds? I'll explain.

Back in August when I decided to start growing I jumped on the internet and searched "Best Cannabis Seeds?" There were a lot of duplicate answers with Canada, Amsterdam and Spain as the source.

However, since joining forums and listening to Podcasts, I now get the idea that there are seeds available in the U.S. from boutique-like inventive breeders to breeders of the old classics.

Having said all this, I want to know (primarily) if you buy direct from seed breeders or do most use distribution companies who offer a lot options from multiple breeders?

If allowed here, can any of you list one ( or 10  ) breeders who sell direct to consumer? If there's seed sponsors for this forum, of course I would like to support them.

If it's best to buy through distributors, who are some of the more reputable? I can guess at a few of the big names. Still, I am curious what other sources are out there.

Hey there brother :toke:
I like to buy from the breeders themselves. But if you want to try out multiple brands you might be better off going to a distributor.
But that wasn't what you were asking for...

US based breeders
  • Jean-O genetics
  • Mephisto
EU based breeders
  • Super Sativa Seed Club
  • Seedstockers
  • Dutch Passion
  • Fast buds
Hope you find something you like

Some sell direct and some do not. Seedbanks are typically easiest to purchase from especially in the US. Bobje gave you a pretty good list. See if I can add anything.

Jean-O is a forum guy and breeder. He has a website and you can chat with him directly here.

Old sage seeds is a small seedbank and the owner is active on here as well. Definitely worth a look.

Another great seedbank that a lot of us have had very good luck and experience with is North Atlantic Seed Company out of Maine. Under the "seeds" menu there are options for both regular and autoflower varieties from most breeder/companies.

Good luck!

I buy from both but try to buy from breeders directly if possible (i.e. Meph). For Gnome and Night Owl, however, you will likely need to go through a seed bank. I think Night Owl will drop direct through the Seed Bazaar IIRC.

Good luck!

most of the points i would have made are in the comments above i always buy from the breeder if possible they tend to have better customer service than the big seed distributors if a problem comes up
twenty20 Mendocino and green grass seeds are definitely worth checking out
good luck

Oh yes! How did I forget. Do check out Twenty20 Mendocino. I've grown a few of their plants, really nice and easy to grow. They no longer sell direct so you will need to go through a distributor but both OldSage and NASC carry them. @Twenty20 Adam is fairly active here as well if you have questions.

EDIT: website - https://twenty20mendocino.com/

Looks like these kind folks took good care of you.
