I bought recently bought a fist full from Herbie's and they all ended up being Seedstockers, just by chance. I was looking for Indica strains with good reputations and good descriptions explaining where the head and body might travel.

So far, the only Dispensary bud that I have liked has been the sativa-dominate Jack Herer. At some point I would like to grow JH, or if there is a close cousin to that sativa.

The main reason I went with so many Indicas is I was hoping my wife would ease into "partaking." She has decided it is not right for her. But, I like the indica, so now problem.

I am a new consumer after years of long gaps. Mainly because I used to get anxiety and paranoia.

Now that I am retired, I wanted to day-medicate by micro-dosing sativa-leaning without pushing the head-high limits.

So far, I haven't been able to truly incorporate day medicating. However, I have really taken to enjoying the indica as I get ready for bed, and again when I wake up during the night for old man pee breaks. :smoking:

I'm working up my confidence to use weed as social product. However, I am not quite ready to take my high on the road to the pub, movies, grocery store, etc. But, I hope to eventually.

Nonetheless, I am enjoying the hell out finally using the biology and chemistry classes from college. Who knew, these girls required so much love and care.

Thanks again to everyone. My main goal is getting the best product I can ... and that starts with the seeds.

I try to buy directly from breeders whenever possible, as it cuts out the middle man.

420 Fastbuds, Linda Seeds, Seedstockers, Female Seeds are all good too.

As far as seed banks, I've heard nothing but good things about @Old Sage Seeds, and then of course there is DCSE, and NASC.

I've personally ordered from Jean-O and DCSE and had great experiences with both (most also offer discount codes for AFN members so be sure to look those up). True North was also a pretty good experience over all, but I had germ issues with their Canuk/Oasis seeds. Nirvana is decent gear but shipping takes forever, there's no tracking, and they don't reship if your order never shows up.

I’m no guru on molecular studies. But I’ve been reading lately that on a molecular level, there is no difference in effects between sativa and indica. That’s basically determined by the terpenes. Don’t mean to open a can o worms, just what I’ve been reading. Dunno how true it is.

There is a difference in plant structure between the 2 however. And so many hybrids that I’m not sure if it matters?

Anyway I’ll tell you. I used to get super paranoid and anxiety ridden when I would partake. But that stuff was from who knows where. I don’t have that happen with what I grow. Odd.

There was that one plant I grew outdoors a few years back though. Whenever I had it I would break down and cry my eyes out. And then one night it got me so high that I nearly choked to death on a French fry. My wife had headphones on and had no clue what was going on. Like something out of a dark comedy in hindsight. But I never touched that strain again.

I think you will find that effects are *really* strain dependent. I test smoked one last night that I jarred yesterday that made me super high and knocked me tf out. Hubby hurt his back today and I packed him a bowl of it and it has helped his pain quite a bit. I've got another that makes me feel very happy and makes me super hungry. Another one helps a lot with my migraines. All indicas, all with totally different effects. I'm on the hunt for a "sativa" strain that will make me as happy as the indica one, but without the major munchies and with a get up and go type energizing high. I'm using my 2x2 to grow small plants in 1gal fabric pots and solo cups to find strains that work well for me, and I'll be growing full sized plants of whatever strains in the new 4x4 I've got on the way. Variety is really good, cause you can pick a strain to smoke that will fit the mood/activity you're after.

I like a lot of variety too. I’m on a fruity kick lately.

edit to add that I’ve really been enjoying the FB zkittlez lately, it’s heavier on the indica side 60/40 indica/sativa maybe? So it’s a bushier thing. But I find that it keeps me going until I want to unwind.

Another thing to keep in mind is THC content, and THC content in relation to other cannabinoids. A lower THC content or a more balanced THC/CBD may be better if you get anxiety from smoking or if you don't want to get super high. Also, vaping produces a cleaner high IME and from what I've heard from former "weed gives me anxiety" folks it doesn't cause them to have that reaction.

The solo is fantastic! Its not very expensive at all and it works just like you would want. It also is much more effective, so I smoke much much less to get the same effect. Plus, the taste is worlds above smoking. I'm to the point now where I don't even want to use the pipe just cause the taste/high isn't nearly as good.
