Some help with drying/curing

Maybe jar some tonight and see where the hygrometer settles but it sounds like they are ready depending on how you like your bud.
I got grovebags. They try to keep humidity in range. Like a boveda pack. I’m starting to figure them out a lil now. My humidity from weather outside is insane though this week. My jar itself empty sat At 70% :crying: I’m going to be using sock hangers for dry and try some bud washing. I’ve been reading a lot about bud washing and although it’s scary it does make sense the more you read it. But yeah no paper bags for me. It’s hard to control their environment especially when it’s really humid outside. What I’ve kinda learned is when you think your buds are dry, fire them into grovebags with a good hygrometer. If the humidity is above 63% then let them dry off for a while. Put them back in until the humidity remains at 62% or above 57%. Then leave them in grovebags to cure. Maybe try using those sock hangers for drying mate? You can get them at a dollar store if ure in America, or pound shop in uk. I’ll update you on how mine turns out once they’ve been curing a while
i have my blue dreams in paper bags and I don’t think I’ll use them anymore. Opened them up to move them around this morning and they’re all smooshed flat. I think I learned something over the last few days. My idea of dry and what actually dry is are 2 different things. Last night I pulled that black strap and jarred it with a hygro and it was 75% this morning. Stuck it back in a paper bag on my desk. They were crispy to the touch but this morning they were definitely damp. The stems hold a ton of moisture so even though the buds feel dry they’re going to draw that moisture out. Although I have read that once the actual buds are dry you lose everything and there’s no bringing it back.

I have tried most techniques, and now I will stick with brown paper bags. With a hygrometer inside, you can adjust where the bags are located, and if pushed whether you need double bags to slow the dry. It is usually less than 50% RH in the basement, often a lot less when I dry my bud, and I typically put the bags on the basement floor beneath a window to cool things down a bit.

Once the brown bag stays less than ~65%, bud goes into a Grove Bag for the cure. Initially, RH in the Groves climbs some, so I usually have to burp for a few days until RH stays close to 65%.

This is the most flexible and effective approach that I have tried. Good luck with it.

MY bags are around 70% inside most of the time. They are easily affected if you grow indoors because the inside climate is affected by outside. If my bag is around 65% one day, and outside weather or inside house is 70%, the bags pretty much will go up to 70% I’m sure. I will give your method a try also

Hygrometer in the bag I never see more than like 50%.

another bag perhaps? I haven't tried it yet, but using bags inside one another might get the RH up. Or maybe more bud per bag?

When I get home I’ll throw both plants in the same bag. They’re already all smooshed up anyway. And probably shy of ounce each so not a whole lot in there.

Sounds good, good luck with it.

Put both in the same bag. Hygro says 79%. I think you’re on to something. I really don’t like how smooshed they are though and I’ve been pulling them out and mixing them twice a day.
