Some help with drying/curing

Found your post because I’m having the same issues. Got a moisture meter and it’s reading 19-20% after over a week of drying in brown paper bags. Feel dry to the touch and stems snap on the buds. Hate this part of growing. I never get it right.
Same man. Same. My buds are good, smoke well and get you high. But the smell and taste just aren’t there. I’m gonna keep trying different things until I get it right.

I dried stardawg in a cardboard box with small fan. It taken like two weeks but the smell remained. After bagging my recent harvest, like three or four days later the smel goes away lol

Same experience man. The smell does get better once they go into jars but it’s never an in your face dank smell like we all want.

I wonder what we’re doing wrong. Wonder if it’s the bag choice. I used white paper Morrison’s bags before. They did seem a bit thick and smell didn’t quite stick. This time around I’ve tried Aldi brown paper bags. Destroys my soul knowing I’ve been growing plants for like three month for them not to smel right in the end. I’ve got a partial harvest in Aldi bag right now with another bag over it to try and draw more moisture out my buds so I can put them into grovebags

When I dry in paper bags in my house 4-5 days and the buds are to dry. The refrigerator slows it way down. Humidity is low, like 30rh. But the low temps slow the dry way down.
thank you - I may give that a pop with some to see how it works out for me, I normally dry over 10-14 days, but the longer the better so worth a pop

Cheers

Alright, serious question. The Black Strap is on day like 15 or something drying in the fridge. I just checked on her and the buds feel way drier than I 'd like them to be, but the stems still bend, not snap. Do I continue to leave it in the fridge or pull it and jar it? Buds are pretty crispy but I don't think overdried at this point.

I think that I have had the best luck with hanging branches of smaller buds and bigger buds. A sock drying rack will hold a lot of bud. Then pull them out as they dry smaller first and into a turkey bag with several big boveda packs. They are usually at about 67% at this point and will take about a week to get down to 62%. I am currently in Aldi Bags. Last, grow I had about 40 bags going. The thing I don't like about the bags is that the leaves get flattened against the bud on one side and the trimmer does not like it. I also Have been using Zip zag bags storage more than jars now.

I got grovebags. They try to keep humidity in range. Like a boveda pack. I’m starting to figure them out a lil now. My humidity from weather outside is insane though this week. My jar itself empty sat At 70% :crying: I’m going to be using sock hangers for dry and try some bud washing. I’ve been reading a lot about bud washing and although it’s scary it does make sense the more you read it. But yeah no paper bags for me. It’s hard to control their environment especially when it’s really humid outside. What I’ve kinda learned is when you think your buds are dry, fire them into grovebags with a good hygrometer. If the humidity is above 63% then let them dry off for a while. Put them back in until the humidity remains at 62% or above 57%. Then leave them in grovebags to cure. Maybe try using those sock hangers for drying mate? You can get them at a dollar store if ure in America, or pound shop in uk. I’ll update you on how mine turns out once they’ve been curing a while
