New Grower Raoul-Duke's Second Grow: DP Auto White Widow

Day 22 (21 days old)
Fed 1250 ml of 640ppm solution at 5.8 yesterday. Today we topped her and I noticed she's already declared sex, must have missed it since she stayed squat and bushy. Well can't turn back now!

Cheers

So what's the plan now? LST her out to the edge of pot?

Day 29 (28 days old)

Fed a few days ago same feed as last time. About 640ppm, 1.25 litres. Growth is slow so I figured I wouldn't up the nutes. I phed the solution a little low at 5.5 but she hasn't seemed to mind yet. I may need to find less concentrated ph adjusters for my smaller batches since one drop would raise or lower ph by at least .5 ph.

Since she's stayed so small I haven't been able to do any real LSTing so I've been doing a little leaf tucking and I've been pushing the top nodes down gently occasionally to open up the middle. She looks really healthy to me but man is she small. I'm thinking possibly a couple things; maybe the high ppm solution I gave her at the start might have stunted her, maybe my watering technique, or perhaps the lights were too low to start? Any thoughts? Like I said, she's looked really healthy from day one, just slow growth.

Well thanks for checking in. Hope all your grows are going well!

Cheers,
Duke

Edit: also thinking I should have added more growstones because the pots still take about 5 days or more to need watering again still.

I've noticed that my pH up seems to have less effect on the pH than my pH down does. I mix mine with purified/distilled (can't remember which, sorry) water in a ratio of say 10:1 or 50:1 or whatever you feel like. I then add that diluted pH up/down solution to the nutrient solution (how many times can I type solution).
I'm not sure if that's alright to do, but it's easier to get smaller volumes of water adjusted for me. Maybe ask someone who has a better understanding of pH and they may be able to direct you further.
Great grow so far! It looks like they're taking nicely to the topping! Keep that green thumb strong!

You got me confused a little, I didn't realize this was a pro mix grow. I think most Growers that are using promix like to pH at around 6.3.
Most things I read said to ph at 5.8, but I've read people phing at different places. Between 5.5 and 6.5. Ph. 5.8 came up the most in the results. You could be absolutely right though, it's something I haven't been 100% sure about since my first grow and until now no one's tried to correct me.

Thanks for the tip, I may have to look into something like that.

Well I think it's later in the grow where it is more important. The Pro mix is peat which has very low ph and they buffer it with Dolomite lime. I'm just suspicious that you might use up all that buffering by the last part of the grow. At least that's how it was explained to me way back when....
