Lighting Quantum board thread.

Hey guys, I've only got the one grow under my belt with 2x V600 Viparspectra's and yield was ok. Ran with a 6 autopot system on 18hr cycle and pulled around 200g total.
As much as I like cheap I've always had it drilled into me that you get what you pay for... and that was reflected in the gpw and my elec bill. With that in mind and all the reading I've done i keep getting drawn to the Samsung LM561C & LM301B strips and QB's. Now I even see HLG have the elite v2 range with the added reds.
My space is a 1.2x1.2x2m tent and as mentioned before, 6 autopot system. My questions to you are...
If you had an open budget, what system would you build or buy to increase gpw and reduce costs?
What's the best Kelvin for a full stand alone grow (3500?)?
Would you add the red diodes to the mix?

I'm not shy about building to reduce costs. I'd just like to know what you think would be best for me.

4- qb96elite v2 engines and two Meanwell HLG-320H-54a drivers would rock that tent. You would have about 700 watts from the wall and it is dimmable should you want to veg with them.

I was one of the first to get a pair setup and these things are incredibly bright. I have to defoliate 2-3 times during Flower

@Chronic_ passion take a loook at diyleduk.com he will build to your requirements,he built my samsung strip light 420w for 400 quid,
1 pound per watt really.

I'll check them out. What would you suggest though? 3500k? 4000k? With/ without reds... there's so much choice it's all so confusing.

ive got 3500k without reds,ive only seen the red in quantum boards not strips, i just went for the better coverage,the fella at diyleduk said
my 420w would piss all over a 600w hps which is what i had. atb

I built one similar to yours, but in veg I use 4000k, and in flower I use 3x 2700k strips and 2x 3500k strips.

Thank you. They do love it. That’s an old pic though. I e been using that light for months now. It has been moved into my veg tent. I use it to grow 2 autos consistently throughout veg. Great light. It’s on the right side of the tent.
