Hey there new to this website but was recommended by a freind i am starting my first grow in a bedroom in a 0.8x0.8x1.8m tent with a 250 w dual spectrum with reflector 4 inch iine centrifugal fan with ducting and eurobarn reflector i will be growing in coco undecided on what size pots and how many plants to do wether i should go for the one in the big pot for first time or 4 in mesium sized pots

I will be using some take root
Canna a +b nutes

As i am fresh to all this any tip or help along the way would be a life saver

Will be doin mephisito seeds 1-4 of the following

Sour hound
Chem cify blues
Green crack
Sour bubblin crack

Also needed some tips on venting as i am growing in a bedroom i can leave bedroom door open 24/7 but was skeptical about having ducting out of windows and no chance of putting in loft would having ducting underneath an open window be suffice t enough with the tent on other sode of room near open door drawing fresh house air inot tent As other windows will be open in house

I have no inline fan only using passive vents on tent

Any help is appreciated i will be doing. Grow log starting this thirsday too

Welcome Sharp,

First let me say that getting 4 plants into that small space will be hard. You might want to start with one or two. Next as far as pot size goes, the bigger the better especially with autos. I've seen some real pros on hear have a lot of success with 3 gallon smart pots, but I went with 5 gallon myself, and definitely go with Smart Pots. Only put plants of the same genetics in 1 pot, as they most always end up needing different nutrient levels. I am working in a similar situation as you so be sure and check the link in my signature.

Welcome to the afn buddy! :bighug:
Some good advice steve, it would/could be a bit tight depending on the strain. Some strains would easily max out that space with one plant. You could however venture into the world of lst and train them so that the space was optimized by arranging all the bud sites in an even canopy with wire or string. Besides increasing yield, lst is just fun to do!
It sounds like you have the beginnings of a great setup! With only 250 watts of light you should be good to vent inside the house without too much worry of heating everything up, it's not ideal but I have had to make do before myself with that method. One thing you'll want to make sure is that they get enough fresh air to not use up all the co2 in the area, but with 4 plants, in a typicaly unsealed dwelling, it would be hard to deplete the levels too much. Plus if you have pets then you have yourself some little co2 generators!
I would be especially dilligent about monitoring heat and humidity though, especially if you're coastal.

Hope you find what you need to get you on the right path, never be shy of asking questions you are puzzled about, we all been there! Cheers!

Thanks for the help guys much appreciated ✌️ i will just stick to the one size maybe 2 of the same strain in say about 10L pots would using a 600hps not dual spec be ok in flowering would it give it some sorr of a kick

Also with the dual spectrum 250 w and the autos do ihave to change the light cycle or do i stick to the same schedule throughout

Best to out seeds straight into the pots they will finish in or a small cup just for the beans and see how they do

Ph meter and clip on 6" oscillating fan coming tommorrow also getting my pots and canna coco tommrrow any links to reading material that will be helpful would be appreciated

my current set up filter is attatched to ducting to the end of my fan pulling air in from the tent i put my hand in and can feel all air being sucked out at a steady pace
✌️

My tent is a little bigger than yours, I grow one plant at a time. I often start one plant while another is finishing, but that's about it.
This being your first grow, I'd also start with one seed because it's easy to screw up. We've all done it; and seeds are expensive.

Read up about SOG and SCROG and other training techniques. You might want to try them later.

600 watts in that size of a tent is a lot. You would have heat problems. I have a 400 watt HPS, and I can't grow in the summer because temps keep going into the 90s in the tent. You wattage is about where it ought to be now. If you want a 'kick' consider led, but be careful you don't get a lamp that is too strong.

Thanks for the heads up i will deffinately start with the one sour hound i was thinking in the 11L smart pot is it best to put it straight in the pot how big could a plant get potentially in a pot this size i know there are many factors to take in i should be ok with the 250w dual spec all way through on same cycle

welcome sharpsthc to the wonderful world of growing I grow in 10 ltr airpots and coco my girls average about 3 to four feet
get yourself some ph up and ph down and your getting your meter in the morning that good ph in coco for vegging 5.7 to 5.9 and in flowering 5.9 to 6.2 but anywere in that range and you should be good if your worried about heat just put your air intake on the floor near your open window should suck in all the air you need and nothing to show the neighbours when you start to feed your girls when they first pop up use 1/4 strength of the recommended dose with canna A+B that's 1 ml per ltr of water (use it myself) and always let your water stand about 24 hours (gets rid of the chlorine in tap water) and regarding light I run my lights 18 hours on 6 off some run the 24/7 some 20 on 4 off but you don't need to change the light cycle at any point that's the best thing about autos any questions no matter how silly they seem theres plenty of people to help you :pass:

Hey guys ✌️Have purchase canna coco50l i have 3x 11l smart pots the guy in the hyrdo shop said 4 would fit my setup so gonna go with the 3 for now see how it goes

So i set it up with the 3 run off trays there is enough room for one more i also have pebbles instead of perlite as he said it would be better does anyone know if this is right

Also have some take root
Coco a + b nutrients
Also he said ph meter would be ok as tap water is neutral where i live and people with bigger grows do not even use them

What would be the best use of coco and pebbles does anyone know also when would i use the take root and whats do i do feom basics when i get the seeds should i germ first or plant and where and when do i provide nutrients told guy was using autos and they say only use 1/4 of the reccomend doseage he said to ignore and go with what the A+B says

Cheers guys

I use perlite and the hydroton pebbles I put the pebbles at the bottom of the pots gives the roots some breathing space some people soak their pebbles in water ph'd to 5.7 I just wash mine in tap water just been on the dutch pro website and it says use the take root at 1 ml per ltr from the start so I would go with 0.5 ml per ltr to start with and ignore the hydro guy start A+B off at 1 ml per ltr each autos don't need as much nutrients as photos the idea is start light and increase your feeds as th plant grows if you cant get perlite no biggee grow in just coco before with no problems first off I use this method of germination by a one of the mods called ronin https://www.autoflower.org/threads/germination-the-ronin-way.33891/
its always worked for me so far
what I do when starting seeds I use that way of germinating my seeds and while waiting for them to show I will prep the pots
I will put about an inch of the pebbles on the bottom of the pot then fill with coco then prewater if I had your nutes I would make my feed up as follows 0.5 take root and 1 ml canna A+B each per ltr of water per ltr of water and water about 1 ltr into each of your pots and leave to stand in your tent till the seeds pop up then plant and dude you really need to look around the site all the info is there good luck man :pass:
