Indoor My First Entry Into The Dragon Weyrs

OK, I am a couple of days late on my update here. The site wasn't taking my pic's, but it seems to be fine with them today so here tis. UPDATE Day 46.

ET #2 is doing fantastic, She is budding along and looks good. I have not been measuring so am not sure on height, I will start checking because I think she may need to be switched to bloom nutes soon. I did pollinate 4 small buds down low on the plant with pollen from #1, but have not noticed any change yet. Will keep an eye out for success.
ET #1 provided pollen (which was hand applied via q-tip to 4 buds on #2) and was chopped earlier today and gave up his pot to the OG Kush Auto I am also running.
ET #3 is also looking great and beginning to put on flowers and some size. Not to much, but it is in a smaller pot than #2. I am also going to hit several of the buds on this plant with pollen from #1 and then also pollen from #4 when available. Biodiversity.
ET#4 is another male and has been moved outside to mature and donate pollen. Any pollen collected here will be applied to select buds on #3 for pollination.
ET #5 is in a pot and several weeks from sexing.

I have a couple of hibiscus that I haven't photo'd yet. Yeah, he was my first, and I took some pollen and hit 4 buds on #2 with it, Just waiting to see if it took. But alas, he is gone. I wanted his pot and another little dragon sexed out male and the stars aligned and I had scissors in hand. So he is gone and male #2 is now maturing outside to donate some pollen soon. So right now I have ET Dragons in the 40+, 30+ and teen day ages in the tent, hoping for a third femme. 1 OG Kush Auto in its teens, and three Shark Shock CBD photos. What was I thinking?

Ok. ET femme #1, which is at 48 days today shall now be known as Ramoth. I don't normally name my plants but what the hell. I gave Ramoth another watering today which is now formulated as follows. 3ml BioThrive Bloom, 1ml BioThrive Grow, 3ml CaMg+ and 2ml Bio Bud in 1.8L of water ph'd at 6.5. She is 23" tall and I will keep an eye on this for a week or 2.

ET femme #2 shall now be known as Faranth. She is 21" tall and adding buds daily, and is almost a duplicate of Ramoth in structure and stature. As soon as the male outside starts dropping pollen, Faranth will get 3 or 4 buds pollinated to see if I can get a few seeds from her. I am not sure yet whether the pollination on the 4 buds on Ramoth took or not for sure, but the buds do seem to be beginning a change so I should have verification in a few days. Then I just have to keep her cooking until the beans are done.

The new light is in the tent now and looks great as well as really helping to get illumination more appropriately distributed over the plants. The new Mars Hydro 60x5 (300W) (which is a rework of and the replacement for the classic series as I understand) is a compact footprint fixture being considerably shorter than my 96x3 and only slightly thicker. It did raise the tent temp by 3 degrees F however. The unit is quite bright and I can't wait to see how it impacts growth rates and overall grow health. My little OG Kush is already noticeably taller in less than 24hrs of basking in this lights glow. And at the price, I am still considering another one or maybe the new 120x5 (600W) for only $150.

Idk if you got an answer to your pollen question about the 1 branch.

I tagged 1 branch on a girl recently. Was my first time making any seeds for myself. I tagged just one branch and the rest of the plant budded out great. Its still going to decrease the overall yield by a small margin Im assuming. Since i still got some good buds from that plant. Good luck my friend, and choose your female wisely =).

Ah, Neko, why choose, I'm going to hit buds on both of my ET females. 2 different males, 2 different females, just a few for playing with later. Yeah, I do seem to ramble don't I. I figure if I'm thinking it why not put it in the journal, once it's written down i can read it and make sense of it for myself as well.

good that you got some pollen off him. always nice to make a seed stash. if you havn't yet, check out Kaosangel in the independent breeders section. he's put out a lot of good info on breeding and harvesting seeds.

Yeah, I'm just learning all sorts of new techniques during this run. I had only run female seeds before this grow and my hibiscus don't sex so this has been my first experience with the males and pollen and pollination. Over in my CBD grow, I'm running with my first photosensitive plant, and I've managed to root 2 clones from her, another first. And since I still have at least 6 weeks before I can flip the tent 12/12, I know that these photos will get big so I guess I will also get to try SCROG or some other training technique to keep them in line. And speaking of firsts, Yep I keep an eye on a couple of KAOS threads. Now I need some Lemonheads and as a futurama fan, I will definitely have to try a Bender at some point.

And yes I had kinda figured out through some deductive reasoning and research that seeding just a few buds on a plant would not be detrimental. To my thinking it should actually help the plant add bulk. Once the buds are pollinated they should release a hormone that triggers the additional nutrient uptake and usage for production of seeds. The entire plant should benefit from this.

Just a few pics of the new tent setup. Faranth is at the back left corner as you are looking in(barely visible in most of these shots),Ramoth is next and MOM (my CBD photo Fem)on the right. L to R in front is OG Kush auto, another baby ET and a CBD clone which is also what the pot front and center is. Ventech blower and can filter, Mars Hydro 96x3 (300W green light) and a 60x5 (300W white) and apollo tent 4'x4'.

Sorry bout the pink shots, someone needs to remind me on how to fix that with camera settings.
