New Grower Mephisto GWK, 4AM, Bubbly Livers, AvT in Coco

brilliant job man, thought i'd replied to these pics sooner - magic first grow :weed::wiz:

i can tell you still haven't come around to the Bubbly Livers :hump: hopefully you'll find her more appealing following dry and cure - have you got a plan for harvest? buds look pretty solid on this lady too?
4AM looks lovely mate, thick old trunk on her by the looks of it.
AvT - i'd describe my Ripley's as larfy also except for the uppermost buds perhaps. Pinesol is similar to how mine smells so i guess you got a pretty Alien leaning pheno.
GWK looks incredible and i'm super excited to have one myself after watching yours unfold - fruity? kushy? sithy? :jointman:
Thanks @Froot n Fuel , I actually really like the structure and bud development of Bubbly Livers. I noticed this morning that she is getting sweeter and fruitier in smell. There’s still hope for me yet!

The AvT is just like you mentioned, more dense buds up top but fairly loose otherwise. Part of that will be my fault, I think I left too many smaller shoots to grow and it’s taking away from the main and secondaries. Live and learn. But I will say that the frost level is really high on her. My pics don’t do her justice.

Forgot to answer: plan for harvest. I am waiting for about 10% amber on these before flushing. If they don’t ripen at the same rate, I might just cut off the ripe colas and let the others go a little longer. Otherwise, I’m going to hang two whole
plants and cut up two for drying just to see the difference. I’ll do a proper cure on all of them even though I’ll like make some infused oil for meds so it may not be necessary. I will have to learn a solid drying/curing method or there’s not much point in growing my own. Looking into gummies now as well.

Awesome, absolutely AWESOME job!
:jawdrop:

You are gonna have some fine smoke there!
Thanks @7.62 I’m trying!! There’ll be a few tweaks and changes for the next round. I’m going to try on a couple of larger plants and work on my training skills. I might also look at smaller pots, maybe 2G to speed up the whole grow cycle.

Slow says 2g won't do anything. you have to get down to 1g to see a diff.

Stink! I just don’t want to water them as much as they might demand. Maybe I’ll just stick to my 3G pots and get a drip feed system to get through summer holidays. My summer run will likely be scaled back to two plants, with a second, 4 plant grow behind me at that point I will have meds for awhile.

Wow! Dude you have done a terrific job on this run. You've got me wanting to cull my AVT's for a couple more GWK's in the tent.

DAY 81 -

I thought I’d throw in a midweek update. My plants stink (as does everyone else’s). I love the smell but I don’t really need to have it engulfing my house even though they are in the garage and vented outside from the grow tent. I have ordered a 4” inline fan and carbon filter for the garage. I’ll install a wye duct connector to vent it out with the other fan inside the tent. My hope is to keep the garage in a slightly negative pressure as it’s now in positive pressure compared to the rest of the house.

Anyway, I’m still checking trichomes to initiate a flush. Plants are looking pretty good but I don’t think I have completely stopped the Calmag deficiency in the Bubbly Livers (rusty spots on leaves) but it still keeps chugging. I’m not too concerned about it as I’m sure the plants will be ready for flush in the next couple of weeks.

4AM - I’m really impressed with this little plant. She is the smallest, stunted but also a smaller plant genetically, at only 12” tall and 16” wide. However, her colas are stacking up well and as they do she opens up a little more. It’s hard to see in the pic but most of her colas are stacking up about 8” long and they are really dense. She has not had a deficiency yet and just keeps doing her thing. The only issue I’ve had with her has been LST due to my newbness and her compact and bushy growth.

AvT - a bit larfy, but lots of frost on her Pinesol self. I’ll be using her for oil mostly I think.

GWK - go baby go!!! I love this plant! I have seen a number of growers dropping GWK lately and I just can’t see how anyone can go wrong with her. If I can fumble my way to growing this then anyone can. I don’t doubt that in the hands of an experienced grower she would be amazing. Super frosty, very nice smell, not a ton of foliage, dense buds, and a decent size at 26” tall. I’ve had to tie her colas in so they don’t flop over.

@TheArchitect @Recycled

Thank you both for your comments. I think GWK has some really great genetics. I love how my GWK is looking, smelling, frosting, etc. but it really isn’t what the plant could be. This one is about 26” tall and I’ve had to give it some support so I didn’t break anymore colas. Buds are dense for the most part but the colas are quite skinny hence the support needed.

The more I think of it, the more I think that I messed up the roots in fairly early development. All four plants suffered a bit from underwatering and cold root temps later on. They came back and thrived but I’m not so sure the root zones are as healthy and abundant as they could have been. I’ll have a better idea on my 2nd grow if this was the case.

I’ve learned a ton of info during this first grow from AFN and from just growing. I’m so tempted to run another GWK to see what I can improve upon but I also want a variety of buds in my stash so GWK will have to wait for another round.

Sounds like a plan man!! It’s all about learning and sharing on here.
