New Grower Medi's Medical grow

Thanks Trapper, I had a freak out moment tonight when I wentwent to check on how they're liking CFL free day and found a tiny flying insect dark in color with a blueish/greenish tinted wing color as though they were covered in an oil spill. I killed it after chasing it a bit, and didn't find any signs of anything on any undersides of leaves, or any other insects, but still not happy to find any insects. I'll have to do some research and see if I can find anything out. At least it wasn't an aphid.

I can picture you going into hunter/killer mode on the little "eff-er"

"Oh no you don't! Uh-uh, Not in MY tent!"

Heh, I always react to insects in the grow space with panic, I lost a lot of nugs to spider mites once so I'm super paranoid. I go in there stripped down and wear nitrile gloves so I have no idea how they're getting in. Queen D is looking awesome btw, it's blowing my mind how fast she is.

Thanks, yeah she seems to be cruising right along...I hope she gets some height in the next couple weeks.

.: Day 15 :.

Just a reminder it's actually day 13 from germination. Nothing to report today except growth. Tomorrow is water day, I picked up some RO water with calcium and magnesium added back in at a specialty grocer so I'm going to give that a try, up to now I've been using local spring water but I'd rather have a known quantity and I don't have a TDS meter yet so RO water it is. I'm going to add just enzymes this time, adding neuts would be tempting fate I think. Anyway, that's it, thanks for reading, sorry for the ramble :)

.: Day 16 :.

When I woke up this morning the bigger of the two(Thing 1) had shot up enough to notice the height, and Thing 2 seems like she's only a day or two behind following Thing 1.

Today was water day, and I decided to tempt fate since things have been going so well :P And so I gave them 1/4 concentration of nutrients in addition to enzymes. I'll keep a close eye on them for the next 24 hours and see how they tolerate it, considering how young they got their first feeding It seems like they'll tolerate it well, but it'll take a few more feeds to know for sure. Just to be on the safe side I watered enough to allow for between 10-15% runoff. PH in was at 6.5 and out at 6.5, feed/enzymes brought pH down to around 5.5 so I did have to adjust with base to get there. The photo I'm including was taken this morning when I woke up, comparing it to the photo I took yesterday afternoon you can see Thing 1 did some growing last night.

Note: I found what looked like a dead mosquito on the floor of my tent, not sure how it got there or subsequently died but worth mentioning. No sign of any interaction between the insect and the plants.

Nice and steady! IS that a picture of a bud on top of your Temp/RH meter? Giving the plants some positive affirmation exercises? :)

Very Sweet!

Hah! Yes it's the picture from the back of the pack they came in, so it's actually reinforcement for all of us to do our best! As you can see my RH this morning was very low, so they were ready for some water. They're sitting at right around 45% at 75f/24c. Oh, I forgot to add in my last post that Thing 2 has a very distinctive skunk smell already while Thing 1 doesn't have a smell at all. Not sure what that's about, but if things do turn smelly I've got an ozone generator on standby.

Shoot...I've only cracked 30% RH a couple times when the dryer was running...I've been growing these plants at an average 22%RH :)
You have really good conditions as far as I'm concerned...

They're looking really good mate. I'm battling with rh at the moment. It's sitting around 70. I'm watering 2 10l pots on the same day. When my rh drops to 50 it's a good indicator my plants are due a water.
