Photoperiod McDee's Malawi Madness

Late veg
  • Welcome back, and thanks for stopping! Things look like they're get back on track. Before we get into that it's about that time... time to get lifted. Join me in a quick sesh if you can. I'm dabbing on some Blue Dream from Garden of Green. :hookah:

They're doing much better over the last few days. Thanks to @Waira guidance on a foliar spray they have responded quickly. Saturday night I gave them a foliar application.

Here is the 1 from the right side before I sprayed. The white grow bag is a 7gal for some scale.

I sprayed them down, made sure not to forget to spray the undersides too. I repositioned them under the net, and wove them back through.

I put my seedling mat under them to help keep the roots warmer. I also started lollipoping in prep for flip.

Here they are today 36hr later.

I left some of the bigger fan leaves in the front for now. They will be gone soon I figured leave them to grab as much light as they can for a few more days. Not sure when to flip as ive heard when the screen is 75% filled. I'm not sure if that's means when there is a top, or after it has grown up some. I know there will be a stretch, but with slow growth will that limit the stretch? Still have some tops below with others above. Net is about filled so gonna be soon 1 way or another lol. They were feed about a gallon each Sunday night. I added some calmag, and ful-power to the mix. That's all I got for now till next time...

  • OK, I was looking to do a poll but don't see that option. Never used it before so foggy on where it was to use anyway. So I will do this the old fashioned way.
    :yay1:

But before I do you know what time it is... yep you guessed it, it's time to get lifted! Partake with me if you can I got some Blue Dream to dab on. Now I'm at the correct elevation I can continue.

What do you think, is it time to flip?:12-12:

  • Welcome back, and thanks for stopping! Got an update, but before that it's time to get lifted. Hope you can join me with your preferred method. I'm feel much better now lol. Today is day 12 of flower starting to see bud site transitioning. I will be switching back to Jacks next feeding. That's about it... this is gonna take a while. Here are some pics from just before lights out.

Start to use their stored energy so it time to stop mkp, and start feeding her Jacks again. Later this week I will do the last of the clean up underneath. I still have some in the back that isn't easily reached. Till next time...

    End of stretch
  • Welcome back, and thanks for stopping! I have some pics to share, but 1st it's that time... time to get lifted. Join me if you can in a quick sesh.
    :hookah:

We should be coming up on the end of stretch. Today is day 19, and you can see buds starting to form. I added some bud candy last feeding. Not going to give every feeding it raised my pH a good bit witch made me have to add pH down. Only have synthetic pH down, so not good for microbes I just gave them. Here they are from just before lights out.

I can't tell if they look hungry, or just the damage from before. Last 2 feeding they only took about 1/2 gallon each. Which is 1/2 of what they were taking. Although I think the 1st feeding of the 2 effected the 2nd feeding. 1st didn't take as much as normal, and then I think I didn't let them get as dry as I had been. I hope I can get a little more stretch out of them, but I think they're just about done if not done. Only my 3rd photo grow so still learning how they react. I think we will know in the next week or so. That's it for now so until next time...

  • Welcome back, and thanks for stopping. Happy Friday all winter is back here today.:snow2:

Yesterday was in the 70's, and today it's currently 36°f out lol. Now that the weather report is done its about that time... time to get lifted! I hope you can join along with me, I couldn't wait and pressed the last of my Lemon AK. I'm gonna have to do that 1 again soon.

    :smokeout:

Today is day 28 of flower, and things look a little different in the tent.
    20230224_091555.jpg

I am a little concerned how yellow the plant on the right is. I thought it would green up more after giving the Jacks again. I can't give them to much tho so kinda stuck in a bad spot. Trichs started to show up about 4-5 days ago. No smell in the tent until you move them. Then you get a sweet smell slightly in the air, your hands have a stronger smell after touching. I thought they would take longer to develop, but perhaps the extra time is in the ripening.

    Flower
  • Welcome back got some pics to share, but first it's about that time! It's time to get lifted so please join me if you're able. Dabbing on some old ass Orange Sherbert. It does the job, but not best tasting rosin lol. Today is day 38 of flower, and we just moving along. I was looking up some info and saw on Ace's website it says flower 10-13 weeks. Another site said 11-14 weeks which is what I swear Ace used to say. So we could be only 5 weeks away from harvest. I don't want to take until it ready, but I hope it's sooner rather than later. I saw Ace recommend moderate - high nutrients in flower vs veg which is moderate slightly low of nitrogen. I increased part A from 2.0 g's to 2.2g's yesterday. I left part b at 1.85g's as well as epsom salt stayed at 2.0g's. I was thinking of adding some gypsum to increas calcium & sulfur without increasing nitrogen. Not sure yet trying to keep it simple. Here they're just before lights out a few hrs ago.

@Waira I tested the runoff pH 1 was 5.91, other was 5.92. Although it was with nutrient mixed water not plain water. I know it should be with plain water, but that was already mixed. I got my 3lbs of craft blend, and some airstones the other day. I'm just about ready to start organics. Need to pick up worm castings still. I saw Lowes has some peat moss 3cbft for $23.00.

This is the same company that makes Pro mix. So other than the perlite, what's the difference? This is less than half the cost of buying Pro mix, and if I got Pro mix from Amazon it's a quarter of the cost. So is there any reason not to use this instead of Pro mix? Think that's about it for now till next time...

  • Welcome if you're new, and thanks for stopping back if you've been here before. Got some pics, and something is up with one of the girls. Before we get into that its about that time... it's time to get lifted! Join if you're able I'm dabbing on some 2yr old Orange Sherbert while I'm waiting for the Malawi. Today is day 46 of flower I gave them 2 gallons of plain pH'd water. @Waira I checked the runoff again the 1 on the right was just over 6 (6.02-6.03) the 1 on the left was 5.91-5.92. The left 1 has something up with it, and not sure what. The leaves have been droopy for around 10'ish days not sure when exactly. They got the same water same everything. The pH is OK at 5.92, and wasn't over watered. You could see in the runoff how much more nutrients were in her.

Now the lady on the right is ROLLIN'! See has started to purple up which I'm sure is do to temp difference when light is off. I love when bud purples up looks awesome. Here they are.
